FX Crown - finally sorted

I have a new FX Crown that would not group from day one.I called airgundepot where I bought it & explained my problem,I was told it was the wind & to call FXUSA,,so 21 different brands & weights of pellets ,,,waiting for the wind not to blow,,hanging 5 wind flags down my 40 yd. range ,,,still 1-1&1/2 inch groups,, up-down all around. over 2500 pellets shot.I have called FXUSA 3 times & left message each time,,,not 1 return call! I have filled out 2 forms with FX Support (one today) not one return email related to my problem..SOOO I call airgundepot to return( with in my 30 days) and was told I could not return gun because I added a bi-pod.I called AOA for help - nice guy told me to go to this forum to see if I could get some action.Sorry for the rant but I'm almost 70 & do not need a run around & be out $2000...this was meant to be fun & relaxing...💩.

talked to fxusa today (i was pressing 2 not 1) they said accuracy is guaranteed, they will do what it takes to make right..thanks everyone-- time will tell. fixing a gun or answering the phone its all about customer service.thanks again

That's odd. I contacted FX USA thru their system and got a personalized response within hours.

I have an FX Crown in 25 caliber.

Can you get us some specifics about your gun? Like caliber, power wheel setting, transfer port setting (caliber wheel), and what your regulator gauge reads?

These guns were made to shoot JSB's well.

Have you tried shooting with the shroud in and out? How about the shroud off altogether? Have you cleaned the barrel when you got it?

Would love to troubleshoot if you can give us some details.

Allen, I know it's a P.I.T.A. but the Crown is fine rifle and worth a little grinding to make it right.
If you don't hear back from FX in a timely manner you may want to consider having it looked at by and independent airgun smith. It may cost you a few bucks but get that gun shooting correctly and you'll forget all about the money.

There are many airgun smiths around but look for one with a lot of recommendations. In that business, word of mouth and reputation are everything.
Rich Dudek is in PA and has done some outstanding work for me. I highly recommend him.

I have a Crown myself, so please let us know how FX treats you.

Cheers and good luck.

I'm so sorry to hear of your problems, that's a bummer! I Called FX today to order a screw I stripped out. I pressed the number for customer service and was promptly redirected to a very nice guy in customer service who took down my information and said he would send me two of the screws immediately. He also told me he would have a gunsmith/tech call me tomorrow to discuss the issue I was having, causing me to keep removing the screw I stripped. The point is, I have gotten straight through and talked to a person every time I've called FX and the customer service has been outstanding. I would be upset if I was in your situation too, keep being persistent and just keep trying, you should be able to get through and talk to someone. FX USA 1-866-639-0772

Hopefully someone from FX or Airgun Depot will see your post on here, reach out to you and fix the problem. Keep your chin up, it will work itself out!

Did you get a test target when you purchased the gun? What are your gun's current settings? regulator setting? Transfer port adjustment wheel(.25/.30?), hammer spring tension wheel(4,5,max?), did you mess with the hammer spring tension? Best pellets so far?

My .25 Crown from the factory was set at about 128bar, .25/.30, Max, and shoots the 25.4 JSB's like a laser beam. Other pellets shoot well too but the 25.4 JSB's and the 25.4 Air Arms are by far the most accurate. I did mess with my hammer spring but it still shoot great. Maybe you could try these settings or some others suggested by members to get it shooting correctly. I obviously believe there is a problem with your gun and you want the problem fixed asap, but in the mean time, there is a wealth of information on this board and so many people with Crown's who have tuned them, tweaked them, modified them and done everything possible to get them shooting phenominally. I'm sure someone on the board can help you get it shooting accurately. Get all the info you can from the people on this board and keep messing with it. Hopefully you can get it shooting before the other remedy presents itself. Good luck, let us know the outcome! Stoti

allenbowles,

FX USA bends over backwards to help their customers, especially guns still under warranty. Give them a call: 866-639-0772. Remember that they close early on Fridays. Talk to Newman in Customer Service. Unless hell freezes over, Newman will get you fixed up. I have direct personal experience with FX USA on repairs and parts for a gun that I didn't even buy new. I bought it used and I was up front about it to them. Makes no difference to them because it's still under warranty according to Newman, and FX USA has sent me parts for FREE!!! They didn't even charge me shipping!!! I've never dealt with ANY Customer Service that even comes close to FX USA Customer Service Department. And, NO, I'm no ***** for FX USA. I'm just telling it like it is.

After thinking about your strange experience for awhile, the only explanation that I can think of is that you tried to contact FX USA during the hurricane. FX USA evacuated during the hurricane. The hurricane is long gone and FX USA is back up and running. Give them a call first thing tomorrow and you'll be just as thrilled with their service as I am.

Allen, where's Rich Dudek? I'm in PA and looking for a good PCP all around tuner mod man. I decided LONG ago, I ONLY buy from certain guys used that really know what accurate is, and tell the truth about everything. OR, I only buy new from PA as I had to return a broken stock at wrist Rainstorm one time. That gun was SO accurate I asked for just a new stock but they wanted the entire thing back. Luckily, it seems everyone I ever owned is as good as the other.

Got email from fx yesterday with apologies.. Mailed them 3 weeks ago for part on impact repair. Come to find out had flood complications. Sending parts FREE. this may be relevant to youre situation. I also left message for AOA , no call from them!

I think we all should learn to repair what we can! We're on our own!

Im a huge believer of repairing what we can on our own. Im one of those who likes to work on... well everything.

i just call fx,got voice-mail,now it says it is full. i watched all the vids i could & have tryed most of them,(thats why i had the bi-pod installed) it is a .177 cal. i have been shooting a air arms springer .177 for years & have seen about everything go crazy..i thought i would get a high dollar gun & sit on back porch & enjoy being retired.i have turned every knob on this thing several times. i am on my third roll of paper in the chrony printer. shooting best are jsb 10.34 , air arms 10.3 & h&n 10.65 @ about 910fps -es.under 10 sd 3-4...tryed jsb 8.4s & several other pellets. have shot over 2500 times.. will not shot near as well as my air arms springer or my umarex g. pcp. also have switched 3 different high dollar scopes that shoot fine on my other guns.. thanks very much for your interest..worst part is FX customer service --i got more from you guys in 24 hrs. than from them in 3 weeks tks

I'm still waiting over a month for an STX barrel, normal FX BS of promising all this great stuff and not having it for 2yrs. I still laugh over the Dreamline promise. Absolutely perfect name for an FX product. I was also told the flood was to blame, now that's changed to we got a huge shipment from FX but no barrels. This was AOA. Don't think any of me monies will be heading to FX in the future.
