Tuning FX Crown gauge reading question for all owners

What is the pressure difference yall typically see when the gun goes off the regulator? Say my pressure input says 160 bar, and my regulator says 150. And the gauges continue to have that 10 bar difference as the gun falls off the regulator further...

Should the gauges not read the same when it goes off the reg.? Or does this sound normal?

Yes the regulator gauge should read tank pressure once it is below the setpoint.

both gauges should not be equal once you see the reg drop at one point they should read the same

I have a MkI Crown, I don’t believe it has ever dropped off reg. With that said I would agree with Hobbyman & douger they should equalize.

Ok, cool. Thats kinda what I thought.... So one of my gauges has always been off.... my fill rig reads outputted pressure so should be pretty easy to see which one is off.

You are lucky if your gauges are only 10bar off. The ones on my impact were 40 bar different from one another. So I got a couple of the 23mm Huma's they were much closer but I finally broke down and got the larger 28mm Wika gauges they seem to agree with one another.

Shoot.... Theres no great gauge option for the Crowns. I'm tempted to get a big digital gauge to tune the gun. Then just slap another OE gauge in it. As long as I know how much the gauge is off, I can deal... But I feel pretty in the dark at the moment.

Most of the larger tank gauges are better quality. So if you fill from a tank with near 3k psi in it then you can get a good idea of how your gun gauge is doing as they should both read near the same.

I ran my gun up and down thru high and low pressure ranges. My reg pressure would read either low or high of tank pressure..... That gauge is really messed up.

if off the reg and the pressure difference remains at 10 bar one gauge or the other is reading 10 bar different than the other. My 2 Crowns read very close gauge to gauge. And both read fill gauges very close to two tanks and a compressor, maybe I'm lucky or very unlucky but consistent.

Hm, that does sound lucky. I have a really good quality Guage on my 9 litre tank, that agrees pretty well with my reservoir pressure gauge. The regulator side was always about 10 bar lower than input. But I slipped and knocked the gauge with the stock off and messed it all up. The calibration anyhow.

Shot fx an email last night and they got my order sorted first thing in the am. Usps handling time is another thing though....
