FX Crown Continuum high power build complete!!

FINALLY had more than a few hours tonight and not on call so finished up my Crown build!

Decided I wanted a hi power build so started with a new FX Crown Continuum in .22 and from there upgraded to a Gen 3 Huma hi pressure reg and installed the Huma pressure and reg gauge for accuracy.

Installed a brass hammer weight and upgraded hammer spring guide (Earnest Rowe has videos on YouTube about this).

Backed off the internal hammer spring adjuster a turn and a half from max and this is what I got!

18.13 on 177/.22 BLAZING fast....Once I had the power wheel down to 2 average was 940 on 1 920's and grouped exceptionally well!

25.39 Redesigns well over 1000 FPS on max with the transfer port set to .177/.22 and on power 3 was in the 950's and grouped even better than the 18 grain from power setting 3-1 as well as the corresponding positions on the letter side of the wheel!!

33.95 Beasts 890 on max and decent groups as well!

FX Hybrids as well as JSB Knockouts both did outstanding in the high 900's on power level 5 down to the mid 800's on power 2.

This testing was done with the 700mm barrel with a Superior liner.....Will be testing the 380mm barrel next then will go through .25 and .30 just to see how things go with some heavier NSA slugs as well as the standard 23.95, 33.95 .25 pellets and 44.75, 50.15 .30 pellets.

No idea why I built this as it has more power than I will ever need for my purposes but hey at least I can say I know what an 18 grain pellet going 1300 feet per second sounds like hitting a stack of plywood!!

CONGRATULATIONS I NOW HAVE TOTAL CONFIDENCE FOR YOU AND YOUR AIR VENTURI COMPRESSOR.

Hammer weight you can find on EBay.....A buddy made mine but he doesn't sell them....

You will need to cut down the spring guide to allow the rifle to cock with the weight but easy enough with a Dremel etc.

My reg is set to 165 and will update shot count and other caliber barrel results as time allows...

Was a stock Crown Continuum brand new out of the box so specs can be found online...

After I was done

18.13 on 177/.22 BLAZING fast….Once I had the power wheel down to 2 average was 940 on 1 920's and grouped exceptionally well!

More testing to come with the 380mm barrel as well as .25 and .30.....

I do Tom....It absolutely made a difference in shot consistency and extreme spread....Even though I am not running it at a super high pressure it seems to handle much better than the Amp reg FX uses....

I did a 10 shot string with 18.13 JSB on max and had a standard deviation of 6.4 after the Huma install with no other changes it was 2.3.

Also seems to recover faster if you are just bangin away where the FX reg needs a second or two to recover....

Yep stock port....

Only mods made are the ones referenced in the original post....

Did some testing with .25 600 and 700mm barrels and am well over 1000 with the 25.39 and in the mid to high 900's with 33.95 and that is after backing off the hammer spring a bit.

On 177/.22 and minimum power level on the power wheel I am at 880 with the .25 kings.

Most likely going to order a bunch of different weight Neilson slugs and see what it can do but expecting good things based on the Knockouts and Hybrid performance (Superior liner).

Once I kinda see how far I can push it will be returning it to a more "stock" tune as I have no need for the kinda power this thing is making.

You could really get it going with a Huma dual port transfer port. I put one on my stock 22 crown VP model and the 500mm barrel is shooting almost exactly like the 600mm barrel I had on it before I put the Huma port in. No changes to reg setting or hammer spring from the stock settings.

Edited to add that I also opened up the pellet probe.
