FX Crown .22 700 mm barrel kit

I believe it's possible, since "The Airgunnero" on YouTube uses his .22 @ 700mm Crown without picatinny, so it shall be "classic" Crown. :)

So, I received the FX Crown STX Superior barrel kit in .22 @ 700 mm. Just one question: usually the former FX barrels have just one groove (to set the position of barrel in the iron) and one air intake on the brass end. But this guy has two grooves (oposite each other) and two air intakes (oposite each other, one smaller, one bigger).

Could anybody explain the purpose of two grooves and intakes instead of just one? Obviously you have an option to choose smaller or bigger air intake, but why? Since bigger intake is better (I believe) for higher muzzle energy and lower muzzle energy it's possible to achieve by transfer port and/or hammer spring setting, no? So I guess to have only one bigger air intake in barrel would be sufficient.

Having these things twice, to me it looks nice from marketing perspective, but useless from design and performance perspective.

Hi Lsoft, first I am glad to see someone from Europe has received their FX parts :D...I am waiting on my Crown C. In regard to your two grove vs. one grove question maybe it deals with the mounting screws, but I don’t know, I am just guessing

Here is the AEAC Vlog video on tuning the FX Crown Continuum in .22 cal. Trust me I am going to watch this again and again when I get my CC. This should give you some direction on the tuning.

Blackpaw, thanks for reminder. I put this YT video to my "see later" folder a time ago, but I forgot it :D ;)

Btw, availability of FX stuff in Europe, it's a disaster... Originally I've ordered .22 @ 600 mm barrel at our official local retailer in April 2019!!! So after 15 months I decided to order a bit longer one from Mundilar Airguns... :D

Funny is that each continent cries that another continent is fed by FX in advance :D :D

So, I used the bigger intake eventually, because the small one looked really really small to me :)

But one more thing to ask: please, there is a grub screw (M8x6) at the beginning of the barrel, which has to be sealed. Originally there was a "beige" sealing applied on the thread, which crumbled after I have loosen the grub screw (due to barrel change). So temporarily I put there a PTFE tape as a sealing, but I believe there shall be used something else (liquid at the beginning, solid at the end). What sbould I use guys? Thread locker (blue loctite)? Or?
