FX Crown 22 - 1st 100yd accuracy test

Conditions were borderline miserable. 27*F, 8mph headwind 20degrees from the right.

ST-X pellet liner, 18gr JSB pellets at 873fps. 5-shot groups with DonnyFL Sumo suppressor attached and shroud locked to the rear.

Not bad for frozen gun and fingers.

:)

Thanks guys!

jw,

I zeroed at 50 and that was it. After the first two shots at 50 were touching in the bulls eye I just went straight to 100.

I was going to go back to 50 to shoot some groups but by that time my fingers were hurting.

:-(

Do I need to send you winter 🥶 gloves? 🤣. Does this mean you will be hunting outside of the car from now on?

Nice shooting, can’t imagine what you will be able to do in Spring & Summer!

😂

Darned FX trigger is too sensitive to use gloves!!

I'm super anxious to get the Slug-X liner and start picking off the pigeons at 130yds. One farm they won't let me get closer than 90 yds to the silo. There's a pole building that I park my car by, it's 127yds to the silo. The furthest I can get at that farm is about 150. I'll just be happy if I can get them reliably at 100+ with the slugs.

Hopefully the liners will come in soon. UA told me today that it'll be a few more weeks.

Bob and Haji, I just got off the phone with FX... bad for me, good for you. The 25 cal liners aren’t going to ship until the end of Jan. or later but the .22 liners have already shipped to UA, AofA and Airgun Depot. If not in stock today, they will be in the next couple of days!!! Awesome for you guys. Have fun and please share the results. Stoti

Would be very interesting to see if you see a difference with the shroud off and the sumo directly attached. Not that those groups are anything but excellent, but my 0.22 Crown is significantly more accurate without it.

That being said, mine much prefers 16gr jsb's than 18gr, whatever the speed, so maybe it's just a gun to gun thing like any other gun/barrel/shroud combo.

I had a little range time yesterday with my new .22 Crown. It shoots the JSB 16 well at around 870 fps. Shot the attached 50 yard, half-inch group with the 16. It didn't shoot as well as I cranked up the speed, which I expected. I've always gotten my best results somewhere between 850 and 900.

The 18 shot better on max power, which is around 890. I think the 18 will be better at longer range, but most of my shooting is under 50 yards.
