FX Chrony on a tripod

Now that is clever. It's cheap,simple,easy and most folks have this stuff somewhere lol on their property. I'd need to get the 1/4-20 helicoil. I'd by a couple to keep on hand from then on. I'll never have a FX Chrony because it takes a smart phone to use but I'm sure I can find a good use with this clever idea of yours. Thx Martin

Thats a really good idea. I was just looking to see if anyone had modified the FX Chrony to fit on a tripod when I came across your post. Perfect timing. THANK YOU for sharing your idea.

Martin, The original FX Chronograph came with a tripod mount on what's now called the "top". It was discovered by @mmahoney here on AGN back in 2019, that in fact, the FX chronograph was more consistent when inverted. FX subsequently made replacement "base adapters" to replace the 1/4-20 tripod mount and gave them free of charge (you payed postage) to those first adopters (me), and since, have been the standard adapter that is shipped with the chronograph. I like your enthusiasm, so keep on tinkering. Nice to see your work.
