Fx chronograph

 Hi there!

I'm new here and getting back into pcp shooting after a long break.

Anyway Ive been a long time user of the old style chronographs recently got a fx

It reads ok but it misses a lot of shots, I've turned the sensitivity up, moved the chronograph, tried both directions with no improvement.

Anyone that uses the fx chronograph have some suggestions to improve my situation?

Thanks!

Can you post a photo of your setup? Is it mounted on the moderator or behind it? If located behind a (wider) moderator on the barrel. the moderator may be blocking the reading.

Double check your velocity. You may be on the border line between two ranges.

Sensitivity should be set at default.

Position the front of the chrono where it intercepts pellets between around roughly 6 inches from the muzzle up to 3 feet (pellet's path). Angle of chrono face should be aligned close to pellet's path in left and right directions and up and down also, not more than roughly 15 degrees in any directions. Pellet should be metal.

Also, make sure that the target is at least 5-6 feet away and there are no obstacles, etc reflections immediately in front the airgun.

If your expected velocity is 880 fps, make sure you have about 50 fps below and above that in your setting you selected on the FX chrono.

Make sure your battery is strong.

There should be a slight angle upward in your setup with the a line 90 degrees from face of your chrono intercepting the pellet at about 12 inches-24 inches in front of the moderator's exit.

Not sure about the rattle. You can take off the cover and see if the module (antenna) screws are firmly seating the module to the main circuit board.

FYI: a simple and helpful addition would be the use of a bluetooth earbud (linked to the phone you are using with the FX Chrono) would announce the velocity in your ear directly instead of having to use the phone's speakerphone. This helps in noisy environments, and also helps to keep your eyes on the target, There is such bluetooth wireless earbud on Ebay for about $2 from China and $4 from the U.S. Comes with the USB charger cable.
