FX Chrono

Waiting on my new Chrono after shooting mine with the wildcat .25. Just for testing reasons I decided to swap my scope from my Veteran .25 to the WC, forgetting that my vet has a 20MOA rail. So I put the scope on the WC, started shooting at my 35 yards target. took few shots trying to figure out where I was shooting to start adjusting the turrets. When I heard a loud wak not too far from me, followed by my phone saying "2442". I went "WTF" looked at my chrono and the LCD was shattered and the impact of the pellet showing just right above it. So result: I still don't know at what speed the WC is shooting, a lost chrono, and a 0.6 inch hole at 70 yards for the first time shooting that baby. having that front lever is something. I really liked shooting it. I wasn't able to get the same result with it that I had at 100 yards with the cricket (3/4 inch 5 shots) . I will try again with the WC and see what I get.
So I went for the FX as they sit behind and not in the front of the barrel ;).

Yeah Pappy, methinks you'll like it. You'll have a hard time shooting that black box and it's pretty accurate on it's readings too. I had a pro chronograph and it was a pain in the rear taking the chair, table, shooting stand, pellets, gun, drink etc,etc,etc outside and then dragging them back inside. The window I shoot out, of on the second story of my house, never got enough sunlight to use in the room … the radar takes care of that pain pretty good. Also when I shoot out the window the sound stays in the room. I've had neighbors that never had a clue what I was doing upstairs. Guess I'm a sneaky little rascal but I don't bother them and they don't bother me. You are gonna need a small camera tripod for it to work well, but other than that you should be set to go when it arrives.

Here's a pic of where I shoot from … this was before I got the FX Chrony

Thanks guys I am sure I am going to like it. At least for now until I test it, I am sure i will not shoot that sucker. As it should be behind the muzzle of my AGs .

Thank you likkitysplyt for the tripod reminder. I will get it ordered asap. Right now, I can't afford the pro lab at 3 times the price. I know the photometric chronos are cheaper. But I really wanted something that Would be away of the line of fire ;)

Maybe I got a bum unit, but I ain't very happy at all with my FX chrono. It's VERY sensitive as to where you place it, and sometimes won't work at all. I've even tried setting the sensitivity down to "0", that being the most sensitive. When I do get it lined up and working, it will miss shots, and the slightest movement of the barrel, puts it out of wack. No way do I have the area of coverage that they advertise. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program on my android phone, and still same problems. Also have a problem trying to setup a profile, and getting the chrono to remember it.

@cootertwo

I have had my FX Chrono for a week ( not a whole lot of testing ) I am running it on a Android phone also, so far the only thing I see that it can take awhile to connet. If you are shooting indoors just make sure your backstop is 18" or more away otherwise it won't register. I'm hoping down the line they can do some software updates to give it more of the basic chrono information (Average Velocity, Extreme Spread, Standard Deviaton).
