Fx Bobcat .30 at 600 yards with NSA 65gn

I was thinking the same thing CC but didn’t want to say anything that made me sound rude and rain on Avra’s parade. Don’t get me wrong Avra, I think it’s cool and like shooting long distance with slugs too. At that distance and not having a target to judge the size of the spread, it is really hard to see what’s going on. I am totally interested in the results though...Maybe if you put a 4’x4’ target on the rocks or something, shot it and then got the target and showed us the results up close we would have a little more perspective on what’s happening. Did you spend much time trying to tune the gun for the 44.75 grain slugs? If you could make the improvements that Derrick and Mike suggested and then tuned it for the lighter slugs at a much flatter trajectory, I think you’d really like the results! It would be a flat shooting beast!

Keep us updated, I’d love to hear how this turns out for you. Merry Christmas!

Hello Stoti!

I understand perfectly well your point (and the objections of CC about this short clip) so no worries, nobody ruins my party 😉

My apologies to both of you if the title was somehow misleading or "prepared" you for a 10 shot group on a target at 600 yards (which was never the case).

This video is not about "showing off", "proving something" or presenting cold facts and numbers.

It is common knowledge that at such long distances all practical advantages an air rifle has over a firearm, simply disappear so I am not interested to shoot ''seriously" there, nor alter that much the behaviour of a reliable and stable platform like this Bobcat.

My project is about creating a fine long range shooter (where the term "airgun long ranges" are more realistic distances) and I believe I am very close to achieve my goal.

So why I stretched the shooting distances? Initially because I wanted to check a few things with my newly installed barrel but then because...I had TONS of FUN!

I must have shot over 400 NSAs (on that day only) and NO the two filmed shots were not amongst the best "clusters" I observed...

And why I created the short clip? Because I wanted to share a split moment of that fun with you and maybe inspire some to try a similar experience!

You will see more of this project in the future,

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL !

p.s. As an afterthought, the title of my clip could have been a more precise: "TWO SHOTS AT 600 YARDS IN THE SEA" but then...there goes the inspirational part of the video... 😂😂😂

I know this rifle shoots straight...

Here's a 3 shot group (again NSA 65 gn) on a rock at 140 meters (sorry for the sprayed finger, had no other way to show the size).

What surprised me was the unbelievably loud smacking noise when they hit that rock.On the white paint you can see the imprint of the hollow point cavity!

Been out of town for a few days. Your gun looks great to me. I hope you don't think I was judging or being rude in any way in my previous post. I only mentioned having a target that we could see as a way to put the distance and spread in perspective. If you're having fun and achieving you goals, then who cares what others have to say if it's derogatory! Not that I was derogatory, I hope I didn't come across as such! I love long distance shooting, what you're doing and would love to see more, it was just kind of hard to see what was going on in the videos. I know CC and Derrick both have or had Bobcats, are both great shots and know what they're doing, so you should definitely consider their advice! Please post another video on the gun and your shooting when you make one, I'd love to see it. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

600 yards is very doe able, Google my utube video, Roachcreek 615 yard airgun 12oz cola can shot.

I made three 12 oz cola can airgun video’s at 500-550-615 yards in the summer of 2013 up on my old mountain place in Eastern Oregon, using the last Haley 257 Scandalous that Jack made. I was using my cast bullets, and a 4.5x14 Leupold vx3 with a custom Moa reticle.

I thought that the 615 yard shot was going to stand for a long time until Rifle50 came along and made my shots look like child’s play.
