FX barrel question?

The barrel fits further into a royale action. The main problem other than the TP not lining up (easy fix) is the liner sleeve is 14mm instead of 13.75. So, the barrel wont insert fully into the action without being turned or sanded 

I would think twice about messing with the Royale 500. IMO, it's the best platform currently in production by FX. It's a stable barrel design that doesn't include the liner, sleeve, shroud arrangement that can make the current rifles a bit finicky. And the solid, ST barrel seldom needs cleaning. I've owned a Crown, and currently own a Royale 400, which I wouldn't trade for anything they make. But if you like to tinker, maybe one of the rifles with the Smooth Twist X liner systems will please you.

I did it with my Bobcat (.30 cal) wich is based on the same Royale platform.

As said above, these are very nice platforms - just make sure that you really want to do it.

(In fact I have two Bobcats and the second one will stay for ever with it's original ST barrel)!

Been wondering about this as well. Think I will just leave my Royale 500 in its stock configuration... If it ain't broke don't fix it! LOL!
