FX Barrel Kits

Hey Guys and Gals,

On shift tonight but wanted to ask a quick question on FX Impact and Crown Barrel Kits...

Are all barrel kits being sent (say within the past couple months) Superior Liners?

I was under the impression they were but just heard other wise from a fella I sold one of my Impacts to.

I have bought a good number of new FX rifles and barrel kits in the past couple months (ok, a ton) and have never actually removed any of the liners to verify.

I hear there is suppose to be a sticker on them that says Superior etc. Is that always the case? If not how can I verify?

Also, I have bought multiples of each barrel kit (Qty 9, 700mm .25 Impact Barrel Kit) for example...Is there a way to tie back which barrel kit corresponds to which invoice (serial number etc.).

Sorry if this has been covered before but don't have time to search through posts at the moment and am curious!!

I am off shift at 11:00 P.M. PST tonight and plan on pulling liners when I get home to check but hoping someone might be able to let me know what the expectation should be etc.

Thanks all and say well,

Dr. Mike

I pretty sure all of barrel kits shipped as of a couple weeks ago have the Superior liner. Just going off description from some retailers websites. I don’t believe any of these barrels have serial number reference.

Mike, I must say that I find it a bit odd that you’ve avoided, thus far, pulling a liner for cleaning. Not enough time and anxious to shoot?

Thanks Nathan!!

I honestly never pulled a liner to clean em....I have three custom made rods (.22, .25 and .30) had them all made 850mm with a loop on the end ...I run a couple patches through from the transfer port end out the barrel crown as they come shroud and all and call it a day!!

I may add a bit of Ballistol on the last patch but seems to work just fine AND is quick and easy!!

I will say for the most part have not gotten to much gunk in FX barrels...Minus my .35 Impact, that one took a bit!

Ha, the couple weeks comment narrows it down a bit for me!

Much appreciated and stay well,

Dr. Mike

Hi Dr. Mike,

If you just got your kits in the last couple months the answer to your question would be no. They most likely are not superior liners. (you will see a sticker on the liner that says superior) We are transitioning over the next couple months putting superior liners in all kits hopefully by end of summer!

FX-USA I just took delivery of a .30 bronze compact Impact on 6/19 from UAG.

This does not have the Superior Liner?

Will the Superior Liners only be shipping in .25 or in all calibers and barrel lengths?

For future reference, what's the best way to distinguish the difference between a Smooth Twist X and Superior Liner?

well that is interesting, I just picked up a bronze .22 cal Impact last week and I assumed that it had a superior liner, since people were buying the superior liners a month ago... I think I'm a little disappointed

If what he is saying is true then yes very disappointing since the lower priced WCIII ships with Superior Liners. Just don't understand that bit of marketing.

The WC MKIII most likely shipped from Sweden with the Superior liners. The existing rifles have to be retrofitted, which takes quite a bit of time and effort. Thats my guess.

Also, the new WC is far from being a substitute for the Impact, ie; a person wouldn't choose the Impact but then decide on a WC just because it was cheaper and came with the new liner at a lower price.

I would think the Bronze compacts would ship from Sweden as well since it's a new anodized color receiver and shorter barrel length.

So I pulled 15 barrel liners all purchased within the last month, either new barrels on guns or barrel kits....and 10 are Superior liners...5 have stickers that say so and 5 have no sticker but match the ones that do (If that makes sense)....

What are the twist rates etc. for the Superior liners or how else can we confirm what is and what isn't since it appears the stickers are only on the liner about half the time??

Thanks,

Dr. Mike
