FX 400 or Daystate Renegade

Hawke Sidewinder 6.5 - 20 x 42 SF. If you buy a new Hawke you get a lifetime warranty, Hawke has excellent customer service. I contacted them 3 or 4 times over the last 5 years. Another scope I would recommend is a Sightron S-TAC SF with the MOA reticle. They have a lifetime warranty if you buy one new or used.

Whatever scope you decide on get one that zeros down to 10 yds and shop around there are online stores that have good prices on scopes. http://www.hawkeoptics.com/sidewinder-65-20x42-20x-mil-dot.html

Raptaman,

On my FX 400 177 i use the Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16x42 scope. This is a TRULY amazing scope, who's only flaw is that it doesn't have more dots. I dope the gun and write the dope on the bell of the scope at 12x. so that I know exact point of impact out to 85 yards. Most of the shooting we do with the Royale's in .177 is for Starlilngs, Sparrows and Pigeons at Dairy Farms. We hunt ground squirrels as well with them for head shots out to 60 yards.

My friend uses the Bushnell Elite 4200 6-24 with mil dots. it's extremely sharp but has no side focus like the 6500. Our best pigeon hunting is at dusk as they return to the barns to roost.

The Royale 177's are incredible guns and deserve great optics.

The Air Wolf is water tight. Guys did a underwater test by taking an Air Wolf into a pool. Daystate warranties the Air Wolf for 3 years, if you had any water damage it would be covered. Electronic Air Wolfs have been in the market for years, I have not heard or read about water/rain issue.

If you install a custom board you will void the 3 year warranty and the custom board is not water proof like the original board. The custom board has been in my Air Wolf for about 18 - 20 months without a problem. I have not taken it out in heavy rain but have been out hunting/shooting and rain/moisture was on the gun. As soon as I got in I wiped everything down with Hoppes #9. The Air Wolf was fine.
