Fwb 300s universal questions

Hi there!
I have a 300s universal from 1978, wich when i bought it was producing 7 joule, so i bought a maccari spring, sealing ring and the buffer, replaced them but i did not replace the sealing on the piston, cause it looked ok and was in one piece, but today i took here out for some shooting, and only delivered 8 joule, wich was disapointing, still as accurate, out to 25 meters it's a one hole group, should i take here apart and replace the sealing, or just let it be? I mean it's not going to be a 100 m gun, just gonna shoot between 10-30 m, but is it better for the gun to do it? Or do you think it something else i should replace or do?

Best way to get better consistent speed is use a minimum of lube . The dot at the end of this sentence is literally how much lube is in my guns compression chamber and on the piston .I lube inside very thinly and then take a paper towel and wipe all of it off that you can get out . Same on piston . AZ ( super guy ) was the one who told me to try this and it's absolutely sure way to get its speed up and stay there. He told me these gun were originally designed to run practically dry so that changing altitude or temperatures had a lessor affect .

Here's a link to a site that sells a " tuner " O-ring that they say will increase speed . Ive never personally tried it so I can't say how it works . But like a lot of stuff with the FWB rifles each one is different. Mine is only shooting 605 with 7.33 pellets but is so accurate at the moment I am leaving it as is .....And that is hard for me to do !!!! I love tearing into these things :) You can add a washer behind the spring that'll speed it up but make sure that spring isn't bottomed out ( if it is it'll bind at end of Cocking stroke ) I just picked up a couple from a local hardware store. Just take the rear spring guide inside with you and find one that'll work .. I had one rifle a while back i was restoring that was shooting an honest 750 fps . I took the spring out of it an tried it in my gun and nothing ....Some just shoot faster . By the 4 or 5 most accurate ones I've personally worked on were never the really fast ones .
