FWB FWB 300 facelift posts ..Pics

Hmmm, I'm surprised that just that little extra speed makes such a difference. Even though I've been shooting for over 30 years now, I'm still learning. ;) I might just get an extra 300S for pimping. But this one will remain as original as possible. By the way, the FX Independence is also a PCP that doesn't need a diving bottle. It's got a built in pump (hence Independence). You can shoot that damn thing all day with pin point accuracy well over 50 meters.

@Joe, youngsters just want tactical poop that shoots like crap, but hard as hell. I'm personally more like you (probably we're the same age, I was shot out of my mothers womb back in '68), I love the new stuff, but can't resist the old timers. :D

JoeWayneRheaI went All In on the FWB . Sold off All my PCP stuff and guns . They are just a blast to shoot . And there are stretches ( not always ) that mine will shoot with most any PCP rifle out there .
My buddy AJ shoots can make a Marauder a one hole rifle , but my FWB in no wind is more accurate than any factory Mrod I've personal shot .

Joe, I haven't spent alot of time with my FWB yet, but it has already shown the potential to shoot as well and possibly better than any pcp I have at 25m. Yes, wind and other conditions change things, but from a pure guns potential stand point, I think the FWB is one of the most precise guns I have ever shot. I guarantee if I were going to shoot 10m or 25m indoors, I wouldn't hesitate to shoot the FWB over any pcp.

Well guys I just got another FWB in to desecrate !! It looks to have a really nice piece of wood under the old finish . I'll take some before pics later today .
No idea what got on the insides of the gun but honest to god I think someone spilled a sugary drink on it . Whole gun is sticky like molasses is on it . Trigger sear was stuck and side lever felt like had gum shoved inside it . Gonna soak the bore overnight and start on the stock today .

Got to try my hand at bluing today . AJshoots talked me into it . So what I'm saying is if it looks bad blame Aaron !!
I'm buffing stock because wife says it looks good as is just needs to be polished up . Spent 2.5 hours cleaning and relubing gun . Beginning to think someone oiled it with a lube that broke down . Zero rust inside but it was a mess. I'm working in muzzle break now. Will post a couple pics tomorrow if I don't refinish stock .
Still gotta make sure its functioning and shooting well before Im thru .

Did my cocking lever this morning, had some deep rust pits, sanded and polished it to a nice shine and cold blued it 5 times. Looks brand spanking new now! Use alcohol after each blueing fase and let it dry (both the blueing solution and the alcohol) for 4 minutes, wipe it dry with a clean cloth, and repeat the process. I used a Dremel to polish it up, the lever was hot and that helps a lot with the first blueing layer. Instant black! Not much to it. :D

THATS what I forgot !!!! Warm the metal up first !! I knew I forgot something . Mine came out not nearly as dark and deep but it more matches the rest of the gun .
I'll post a couple of pics later today . I didn't refinish the stock but I used polishing compound and it brought the depth back to the finish . It was in such good condition I didn't want strip it .
I've got a Total rebuild and finish coming in this next week ...I'm gonna blue the entire gun .

Always heat it up if you want the deepest black. ;)
For those FWB300 owners out there, I started a FaceBook group where I want to give FWB 300(S) owners a central place for sharing information. I'm creating an archive there with original marketing material, ads, manuals, etc. Feel free to join in. :D
