FWB 124D @ 42 yards

Adjusted the parallax on the Swift 1.5-4.5X21(21?) the other day and put it on the FWB. I went out today to see if there was any POI shift. I started at 15yds, all was good so moved to 25yds and consistently nailed a 1" spinner, then out to 42yds where I hit two empty shotgun shells with two shots. Then ended the session shooting a "group" on the base of a can ( Vienna sausage ) I had wedged between the logs of my backstop.

POA was the top edge of the can.

All 3 of my FWBs have Maccari springs and seals but this is the only kit that has a nylon bushing. All 3 are pretty much the same accuracy wise but this one seems to have a slightly better firing behavior.

I've known about the FWB124D for decades and when they were first introduced here in the USA. I was initially into magnum springers until I took a deep dive into PCPs but I had to keep a dependable springer on hand. I was introduced into "adult precision airguns" in 1983 by a gentleman that was sold on the FWB124D and that's what started my addiction to airgun. I've witnessed him taking kill shots on squirrels that you wouldn't believe but I still wasn't sold on that particular springer. It was well over 30 years that finally broke down and bought one (FWD124D) at an airgun show here in North Carolina. With all of that being said, I can't be happier knowing that I too own one of the finest springers ever built and its accuracy is far beyond reproach.

ps.... please forgive me not mentioning, that is a great looking springer and shooting as well shooting!

LIke to see pics of yours ?

I really like that Swift scope. I was sorry to see that model has been discontinued. Nice rifle too.

Thanks

I think the scope is more suited for a Marlin 1894 but I can't bring myself to put a large scope on the rifle. I like to try to keep them scoped so they look similar to what they were in the late 70s.

I agree with you. I too have always liked those compact classic scopes.

Nice!!

If I could only have one airgun, one springer, it would be an FWB 124. Who says it’s not perfect?

Nice group. You have to love it when stuff like that happens.

I graduated high school in 1980. My dad asked me what I wanted for my graduation present. He said he would spring for the deluxe, I told him that I was more than thrilled with the standard model. I still own it, with a little bit fancier furniture.

We drove over and bought it from Gary at B and B supply in Minneapolis. No Internet.
