I have an old FWB 124. My kids grew up shooting it and I bet it's shot a 5 gallon bucket of pellets. It is just deadly accurate. I absolutely love the gun. Everything except the damned trigger. Ive had it apart and polished everything, but it's still a sorrowful situation. Does anyone know if FWB improved the trigger in the new 124"s

Looks like they did improve it a bit.
I have a 1979 124 and find the original plastic trigger quite acceptable. What do you not like about the trigger on yours?

mine is a metal trigger about a 1972. Smooth and breaks clean after polishing, but way to heavy. Shot it at EBR this last year. Did ok, but have to work at it way to hard and could have done better with a lighter trigger.

I am cautious of too light of trigger on a springer. Having a barrel slam shut on my finger while loading sounds painful at the least. I have read a couple horror stories with graphic photos. My youngest son shoots my rifles also, so for me a slight heavy trigger lessens the risk factor.
It is understandable if you shoot EBR that you would want a lighter pull.
Would love to compare the new FWB Sport to the old 124 but not for the 849.00 price tag. If it came with a walnut stock and premium scope then maybe.

You don't have to worry about this one being to light! It's about twice as heavy as the cheap AR-15 trigger. Plus it sets the safety overtime it cocks. I guess in the early 70's it was good enough.

He is outstanding on triggers and a nice guy, there is no reason ( unless some years were very different than others???) your 124 cant have a nice clean light trigger break.
Have a picture of that timeless beauty? Some folks may not even know what they look like and they were such fine rigs.

Thanks for the imput. I'll make some calls. Don't have a picture, but looks about the same as new ones. Except this one raised a couple of kids and has been a shop gun for 44 years. Still shot in the high 600's at EBR this last year. Thanks again

I believe FWB 124 rifles manufactured in the 70's all had plastic triggers. Somebody must have swapped yours out at some point if it is of metal. Maybe something isn't quite right with the aftermarket trigger blade.

I replaced mine with SS version from air gun headquarters after rebuilding my 124 a while back.
I was pretty happy with it seemed to improve feel a bit a lot of it may have been due to fresh
lubricants. It had been setting in the case for a couple decades.
btw: My rifle had some type of a die cast trigger not plastic.
I also replaced the spring and seals it cocks about as effortlessly HW30s but 200 to 300fps
and is just about a quiet.

I will bet your rifle is from the eighties if it came with the die cast trigger. I believe they converted from plastic around 1980. Don't quote me on that though.

I bought it when my son was born. 1974. Good enough reason to buy a new air rifle. Said it was for HIM!. That is a GREAT price on Champchoice, but they are out of stock. I'm going to try one of the stainless triggers. Thanks
