Fun with grandson and Daisy model 25

My 8 yo grandson just loves to shoot with me so I set him up with a Daisy Red Ryder bb gun. A few weeks back he asked about some guns i have hanging in my gun room as decorations. One was my dads Daisy 102 I think from the 1930's, my Wichester 422 .177 break barrel and my older brothers Daisy 25 and model 99.

I let him shoot my 422 and he was doing really good with it then he wanted to shoot the others. I knew the 99 didnt shot anymore and really didnt want to shoot my dads old one but I never tried the 25. So I said let's see if it will shoot.

Now this gun has been sitting since 1971. My brother was 17 at that time and was killed in a car wreck. Before my dad passed away back in 2009 he gave me his guns and my brothers guns to keep so I hung them in my gun room. I'm pretty sure this Daisy 25 is from the late 50's or early 60's since my brother had it when he was a kid. It still looks new and to my surprise it shoots fairly hard after sitting all these years.

I added a couple drops of Pell gun oil in the oil hole and worked the pump a few times then fired off a couple rounds. It took a few tries but my gs was finally able to cock it and started shooting tin cans.

Great way to spend a Sat afternoon

Also last week I took him squirrel hunting and het got his first squirrel with his .410 Rossi single shot.

You can talk to the owner/tech at Precision Pellet to get parts for the Crosman model 99. I have two videos on my Youtube channel where I start restoring mine. Those air rifles are in beautiful shape! I just can't resist a vintage air rifle. especially a wood-n-steel example. But some of the older plastic stocks look darn good.

I got this Daisy/sears only model 799 (Daisy 880) from a friend on one of my Facebook airgun groups for $20! Anyway, the Crosman 99's were built from 1965 to 1970. They take one 12g Co2 cartridge. I also have five different Daisy 1894 30-30's as well. But my latest is the model 799 (Daisy 880). First year build too, March 1973. The 880's were built from 1973 to 1983. It even has a tapered barrel sleeve reminiscent of a powder burner. And the barrel shroud and rear sight are painted metallic black, which Rustoleum makes called, " Hammered".
