Bob, great video as always . It would be called a murder of crows , not sure where that saying came from , but I get to shoot quite a few here in Alabama and did a little research on crows. Every article talks about how smart they are, and it must be true because they fly around my property now , never through it. They also mention them circling and cawing as having a funeral for the bird down.

@bob_o, my mouth dropped open a little bit as I watched you thread that shot through those tiny branches and take down that corvid. Absolutely great shooting and a testament to the quality of the gun you used. I watched your vid while stuck on a multi-national call for work so was not able to listen - I plan to re-watch the video so I don't miss any of your sonorous commentary flowing like syrup from my headphone speakers.

Bob-

A couple years ago I was doing a pest control on a bunch of magpies. They are basically crows with a bunch of chrome on them . I observed same behavior as the crows. Over 2 sessions I took 11 magpies and now, almost 3 yrs later, they won't even fly over his 1 acre property. There are probably 200 of them visable at any one time flying around the cemetery that is next to his property but none will come within range of my .25 M-rod.Very smart birds with long memories and the ability to share info with family and friends!

It's only the third one I've ever got while pesting. The other two weren't on scope cam. One was 50 yds and the other was 77 yds. The longer shot actually winged him.......he was very mobile. I had to chase him about 200 yds through the pasture before I could get close enough to make a couple of follow-up shots on him. Slugs ought to be great for crows.

With the winter crow season starting on February 1st, I was hoping the slug liners would have arrived by now but no such luck. I'll just have to go at them with the shotgun.

I’m pretty envious of you Midwest guys. Here in Washington, we can’t shoot crows unless in season. No, I know You said there’s a season also there. But in order to drop those pesky dang things, you have to get the wildlife involved. It’s a pain.
