Friend with older FWB124 needs help

I have recently gotten into airguns and of course I drag my friend along, as with other hobbies over the years. Turns out he already has an FWB 124 from years ago that's just been in a gun cabinet all this time.He remembers it had lost power and he never got around to getting it fixed. What would he need to get it back up and running again? A tune kit from someone?? I'd guess we would need to build some kind of spring compressor?? Send it to someone??

I'm sure there's youtube videos out there to show how to do stuff, but we need some initial guidance to know just what to look for. Thanks.

I work on a lot of spring piston rifles, and do most without a compressor. But you WILL need one for the 124.

The seal is disentegrated by now, and will be a pain to clean out, so expect that.

A new seal correctly sized to fit the tube and a spring should get him shooting again. I recommend ordering a spring and seal from Air Rifle Headquarters, and pick up a small tub of his moly lube for the piston seal and spring.

And a spring compressor doesn't have to be elaborate. Here's mine:

Just a sturdy woodworking clamp set into some padded pieces of 2X4. I also clamp the compression tube to the bench top to hold it steady in the v-blocks.

Spring, seals and grease is all that should be needed to get it running again.
