I'm interjecting here, but to mount the fox would be to have a taxidermist preserve the specimen for display on a wall or table as it would have appeared live. To skin said fox would be simply to preserve the pelt(hide) as an article to keep or display. Either item is often referred to as a trophy of your kill.
