Forget self-tuning! Send it to Motörhead!

I have a .177 AA TX200 that is nearing three years old but that has had several thousand pellets through it. Installing a Vortek Sho tune kit in it a few months from new seemed to tame it some, but then over time accuracy began to wane POI shift issues started, and I noticed a significant loss of accuracy.

Based upon his AGN reputation, I boxed it up and sent it to Scott Schneider at Motorhead Airgun Tuning.

Today, it arrived. I unpacked it, put the stock back on it, remounted the Hawke 6-24x56 SF30 Airmax scope on it, put it behind the Chrono Pro and proceeded to sight it in.

Five shots later, I put the next five shots dead center in the bull on my indoor 18 yard range, one on top of another. Counting the very first shot out of the box, the 10 shot string averaged 896 fps for just under 15 ft lbs, with an extreme spread of 8 FPS, and a standard deviation of only 2 fps!

The redone trigger is perfect. The cocking cycle is silky smooth and everything from the cocking stroke to the discharge sounds totally different. It seems to have lost nearly all of its former vibration.

For the final test, I took it to the outdoor range, Shooting the 8.4 AA Field Diablo pellet, shot 2 inch spinners from 25 to 53 yards without a single miss. I then put it on paper at 53 yards, and in such strong wind shot a 1.5” group, dropping only 1.5.”

Scott was terrific to work with in all regards and the service cost was very fair. My rifle is now better than it ever was new. I will be packaging up my WEIHRAUCH HW97K and sending it next. After my TX experience, I can’t wait to see what he can do to improve its already good performance.

I highly recommend Scott and Motorhead!
