For those that love to eat squirrels .

No proof that eating squirrel brains caused his disease. While I like to eat squirrel I have not ate the brains since I was a child. But would bet one might live a long time if they only ate wild game. I figure that medicine injected , raised for profit meat is causing far more death than meat from the wild. Heck, some beef farmers feed their cows chicken manure. Now tell me that is good for you. I do know I have quit eating venison since deer in our area have been found to have CWD. However most of my friends still hunt them and eat it.

In general, wild meat is probably healthier. Less fat and lacking the additives that commercial stock is fed. The worry is always that some ailment that might have been caught and culled on the farm will creep into the wild population, but then it take a while to figure it out on the farm too. Cook your meat well and you'll kill most pathogens. That's true no matter what the source.
