I NEED a Dreamline Lite. I think of it as "The Hockey Stick" because in one of Chuck's posts a while back he referred to the Dreamline's "hokey stock configurations" but I read "hockey stick configuration" and it does look like a hockey stick. Eventually realized my mistake but I still think of it as The Hockey Stick. If Ted gets to name the compact Wildcat "The War Cat" then I think Chuck and I should be able to name the Dreamline Lite. Right?! Anyway, out after snowshoe bunnies on skis last weekend with the disco in a biathlon sling, I broke the TKO in half - time to get off my butt and buy the Dreamline. I might hesitate before taking it backcountry skiing for bunnies, but only for a second! Do we know what the Hockey Stick weighs yet?

Classic / 22 cal / synthetic

Why: Need a forend for hunting / rest. No bipod. Synthetic because it feels great / somewhat non scratch, light weight and don't have to worry about scratching it like laminate or solid wood. Also may save a few $$$ on purchase price.

Why I would not: I prefer a pistol grip. Wish I could get both a forend and pistol grip.

Does anyone know why FX prices their laminate stocks more than the walnut ones? Daystate does it the other way around. Seems like the laminate should be easier to manufacture than that. Maybe Daystate uses a much higher quality of lumber? They sure have some good looking ones for sure, but Tominco had a really nice walnut stock on his streamline awhile back. Just a curiosity.

Might be the cost difference in the two countries. I think Daystate might use a better grade of Walnut. But the difference in looks just might be where the tree is grown. Anytime I am going with wood, I would choose walnut over laminate, but that is just a personal preference.

I see they have the guns individually priced, but no option for buying an extra stock. Say I want the Classic for bench shooting and turn it into a Bullpup when heading out on a Walkabout.

I would think that’s what most folk would want, at least 2 configurations. I know I would if it was me.

I can go from carbine to traditional on my current rifle, but have never once and likely never will go back to traditional. I think the idea of modular stocks is great and all but generally someones going to find what works best for them and stick with it, at least the majority of the time. IMO.
