For slug folks.

Hey slug brothers. After watching Matt's from south Africa videos. I jumped into the slug wagon and purchase a slug liner A. Been shooting nsa slugs 33gr and 36gn in .25 cal with a 600mm barrel .

My question is. Should I switch to the superior liner or heavy superior for the best accuracy. Or stay with the slug line A. I have a fx impact .25 cal 600mm.

2nd. What is the best slugs out there for accuracy and prices. The only slug I ever shot was nsa, thinking they are the most accurate and affordable. But I'm pretty sure there are others out there. What other slug brands are out there that are accurate and affordable. FYI, fx slug are way too expensive imo. So I doubt I'll buy them unless they are hole in hole at 100 yards lol. They cost $16 for only 100. While nsa cost $19 for 325 counts, in the same weight. Doesnt take a genius to figure nsa wins.

My slug A in .22 has been incredibly accurate. I bought a superior heavy liner and that has also been incredibly accurate. One thing I did notice is that the Superior Heavy shoots a wider selection of slugs very accurately compared to the Sug A. In .22 H&N and JSB KOs have been consistently the most accurate, with the H&N slightly edging ahead. Both are reasonably priced

I have a 600mm 25 cal, superior heavy liner with carbon rod Loctite to the liner. I have a few tests that I'm going to run once I get off quarantine as I need to fill my tank and pick up my shroud and suppressor from Cerakote. I can reply to this thread in a few days, hopefully.

The ammo I'm going to tests are:

H&N .249 - 28 grain

H&N .249 - 30 grain

H&N .250 - 34 grain

NSA .250 - 33.5 grain

NSA .250 - 34.9 grain

JSB .251 - 33.49 grain

I'll be shooting most of these in the mid 900s. I have my reg set at 145 Bar when I shoot a 500mm superior liner while the 600mm is complete. I'll probably keep the 145 Bar and lower my hammer if needed. I'll start at 50 yards then move to 100 pending the results from 50.

I have eh Slug A 700mm in .25 and it is lights out with the NSA 33.5, 36, 36.5, 38.5 and VK 34 as well as JSB 33.95 pellets out to over 100yards. Although when I bought a .22 liner I got the Superior because, as stated above, it is posed to shoot a wider variety of projectiles well. I personally will not be changing out my .25 slug A liner as it does so well as it is and am not planning on changing projectiles any time soon.

I guess I'll be sticking to my slug line A then and save a few hundred not getting on superior liners. I keep hearing good things about VK slugs. Who sells them and are they good price as nsa or more expensive?

That liner was developed for NSA slugs I believe.

Check out ted's video on testing the 25 cal barrels, pretty sure the knockouts shot well in that liner as well as pellets surprisingly.

The new 34.9 gr. NSA are the best of the best. I’ve tested them all and out of the slug A these are super accurate and consistent. 945-955fps. Give them a try, you will not be sorry. Actually, all of the three new NSA’s shoot very well if you have the power to shoot them at the right velocity. The Varmint Knocker 32.8 and 34 grain also shoot very well and the 32.8 has a similar POI as the JSB 33.95 pellet with the same tune. That can be very handy. You can get a hold of Dale(VK slugs) on Instagram or you can reach him and buy his stuff on E-Bay like others have said.

Good luck, slug testing can be frustrating at times but also very rewarding. Because every gun and every tune is different, you need to be thorough and test things thoroughly yourself. Use other people’s information as a starting point and then test, test, test.

Good luck, Stoti
