Follow up Immersive prismatic.

Shipped September 30, delivered today!

I'm very impressed with this little scope! I can't wait to test it on the gun! But very easy on the eye, I love it!

Keep us posted, would be nice to put one of these on my leshiy 2 for compactness. I’d like to know about weight, glass, and light transmission in real conditions.

I'll get familiar with this and then will share my thoughts in a video.

Now that I see this, it would have been useful ti see the 10x40 side by side and see through both.

The 10x40 have better exit pupil, with a value of 4 this one has 3.5 slightly smaller. Bigger exit pupil easy to see

It's not heavy but it's not light... I'll keep playing with it.

Wildcat Compact w IO 5x30.1633571306.jpg

Here is an Immersive Optics 5x30 mounted on a Wildcat Compact. I use this setup to pest racoons at relatively short range (usually ~20 yards). That ugly camouflage duct tape holds the flashlight activation button in place. I turned around my picatinny rail to get the scope closer to my eye and (slightly) shift the center of gravity closer to my shoulder. I originally reversed the pic rail back when I had a MTC SWAT 12x50, which had even shorter eye relief. Back then, the scope was pretty close to the end of the rail. Using the 5x30, I could probably run the rail in its normal orientation without issue....

with these scopes, any issues with being far sighted with such a close eye relief.

is there any kind of ocular adjustment to get the cross hairs in focus for the guys who can't see squat up close

Yes, it had a well done standard diopter adjustment. I'm far sighted with an astigmatism and it works great for me, but my eyes aren't that bad fwiw.

I just checked out Amazon and the pricing seems bloated compared to the UK dealers.

I bought my 5x30 from Russian Military for $318 (out the door, which included taxes and shipping). And, on rusmilitary.com, the 10x24 is priced roughly 9% less than the 5x30. On Amazon, I am seeing the 10x24 at $357 before tax. After taxes (Wisconsin ship-to address), it comes out to be $376 (+18% more than the typically more-expensive 5x30).

I guess there are customers that are willing to pay a premium for a quicker lead time and for Amazon's extremely-generous return policy. But, I would think purchasing the scope domestically could happen at similar price to the dealers across the ocean. As I am imagining it, I would think there would be some favorable economies of scale at play, like shipping a box filled with scopes rather than one at a time, for example....

Also, odd: on Amazon, the 10x24 comes up as a sponsored listing. I cannot understand why one would pay extra to sponsor this listing when it is literally the only Immersive Optics item on Amazon. If someone searches "Immersive Optics xxxx", it will be the only item that satisfies the search, so why increase the costs (and presumably pass that added cost on to the customer)?

@camiszon.outdoors I'd like to echo @NickT here -- I've ordered from two different UK retailers and both OTD prices were cheaper than what your base lists are. In both cases I had good experiences. There's also a Canadian retailer currently spinning up.

I like these scopes enough that I was consider trying to become a US distributor, but probably don't have enough free time, for some context.

Everyone that gets their hands on one seems to enjoy one, but a ~ 20% premium is pretty hefty.

*edit -- fwiw, I bought my second one after you listed on Amazon, and still ordered from the UK because of the price differential.

Generally speaking, I think using Amazon as the only mode of domestic fulfillment for a product like this just doesn't make much sense. The reason most vendors feel compelled to use Amazon is so people can find their products—in a sense, Amazon is a competitor to Google because customers use the site as a search tool.

But, for a product like this, customers don't go on Amazon to find out about it, they go on sites like this one. Why then make customers pay a premium to buy it from Amazon when they would happily purchase it direct (like they have been doing from dealers in the UK)?

If one was using Amazon as a parallel mode of fulfillment, I could see that being a strategy: people in the know would buy direct and less-informed customers would stumble onto the product on Amazon. But, because of its oppressive fees, Amazon should be a last resort.

@Larcat, Thank you for your valuable feedback 🙌. As mentioned yesterday I informed the pricing team and they have now confirmed that the prices have been updated.

The team are busy on other channels including local stores.
