Fly Killing Air Gun (Pumper) Bug-O-Salt Review

Cool video! Have one but got sick of the auto safety. Pretty easy to take it apart and remove it

I went over to bugasalt.com to order one but I think $45 is a little much.

I was gifted one and have to smile every time I smoke a fly with it. Can also use it to season your salad or meat...

Here in Indiana we have stores called Rural King. At one time they were on sale for I think $10 we all have them they;re lot of fun

They are alot of fun.

The bride says I can't shoot in the kitchen anymore since we just repainted. She says I leave too many crime scenes in the walls and ceiling.

Lot of fun, I was also gifted one a few years ago. They're great for killing flies, much more effective than a fly swatter!

Himalayan Pink is the preferred ammo, says a buddy of mine!!

Here's my fly gun. More of a springer type. Reaches out a bit further than the bug-a-salt gun. Remove sring and challenge yourself further. A great practice target would be the wife's fanny, BUT not while she is doing dishes!

Fun toy but leaves fly guts all over the kitchen if the shots are too close. Fine salt is better the shot pattern with kosher is not dense enough at distance. Kosher salt smacks hard at point blank. I can’t believe I’m talking about this thing lol

My brother in law bought me one. They are fun and useful. I wish they made a shoulder stock for it. I don't like to use it to much because I don't want to spray to much salt around in the house. I don't want to replace a fly problem with an ant problem.

I tested it out side on some wasps but it does not have the power to kill them. I hit a big buck wasp three times at point blank range and it kept getting back up.

I've had my Bug A Salt 3.0 Black Fly Edition for about a week now. I must say, it is impressive. Easily smokes flies from three feet away. Gives me a feeling of near god-like power over those nasty creatures of pestilence. The safety is indeed manual. Rear sight pops up only when the gun is cocked, so it acts as an indicator. Very happy with it so far. I don't have to worry about knocking stuff over like when using a fly swatter. Is $45 a bit much? Maybe. But then again, look at what we put into our airguns. Like those airguns, I simply think this Bug A Salt is a ton of fun.

Been thinking about getting one. However, any CO2 or PCP airgun will work. Have to get a little closer and MAKE SURE IT IS UNLOADED!. Doesn't kill them but turns them into Dodo flies. By the way no bug guts.

I used to do that with my unloaded Crosman 760 when I was a kid it was a lot of fun. I also used to shoot crawdads in the creek by sticking the barrel of the gun in the water so I could line up the shot. 

Plus 1 on the Crosman 760 as a kid. I have this and the safety doesn’t work anymore luckily. I wish it had more power. It shoots nice blasts through aluminum foil up close but shooting a horse fly while it’s buzzing about is hard. 

I did find a vintage crosman 760 I almost bought. I don’t know what year mine was but it was all metal and wood. My dad bought it in the mid 70’s. It quit working sometime when I was a teenager and he threw it out. We didn’t know they could be repaired. 

I bought one of those bug-a-salt and it was pure junk. You have to almost touch the fly with the end of the barrel and even then a lot of times it don’t even kill them. It just messes up there wings so you can put two or three more into them, trying to kill them, before you end up just stepping on them. I returned mine, had to argue with them to refund my money, but they eventually did. Pure junk in my opinion It’s says up to three feet away, no way in hell, I say no more the threeinches away, and that’s stretching it, that’s a long distance shot for those. Oh yea, and I bought the “ more powerful” one.
