I live just a short distance away from the Osceola National Forest in north Florida. I used to lease a large piece of hunting land on its border for several years but I never got to know the Forest land itself. We have a very liberal small game season on most state managed lands, of which this area falls under even though its Federal. I just rode the roads for a long time looking around and then hopped out and set up on some oaks I saw in the distance. Got one pretty quick, but then spent the rest of my time reviewing an emergency email from work. It was still a nice evening in the woods.

I was using my Gen 1 .177 Marauder, modified with a JSTAR aluminum tube and MDS hammer, a Huma regulator, and a homemade SSG. JSB Exact RS pellet set for 12fpe.

Congrats on the new addition to the family i.e. future hunting partner. Hope your hunting and shooting time is not deceased too much.

Thanks bullfrog. Im thinking of moving to Florida in the next couple of years and was wondering if there was public land to hunt. Now to do some research.
