They're hard to kill too, I remember squishing them and seeing them crawl out of the garbage and hour later like a beat up Terminator from the future :0

Here in North Carolina, we call them either roaches or water-bugs. What's the difference? Well, if they are in your house, you call them water-bugs. If they are in someone else's house, you call them roaches!

We have Palmetto bugs here upstate SC in my yard and the red shouldered hawks fly down and grab the Palmetto bugs.

It varies. The bigger the lizard, the likelier it is to let you get a bit close, ~ 20 yards. I took my first 125 or so on a Benjamin Titan NT springer, no problems at all out to 50 yards. I routinely take them both when I go out to do God's work.

I could see my wife now looking at at a 30lb lizard ! LOL !! PRICELESS! Reptiles continue to grow their entire lifetime. As long as they live...they grow.
