First time out with the hatsan 44-10

Finally got out to the range to shoot today. I'm shooting my Hatsan 44-10 AT QE long. The gun is stock except that I put a regulator in it. I was the only air gunner at the range. Everyone else was shooting center fire and some 22 rim fire guns. I got a few odd looks my way with my quiet Hatsan. I was thinking don't worry I will convert a few of you with a little time.... : ) Everyone was cordial....but I felt like the odd duck in a pond of geese.... : ) The farthest the range went out was only to 25 yards. So I parked the targets out that far. The range was well kept and well ran. Set the distance on the computer screen and punched go... worked without a hitch. Once I started to sight in the rifle I found out that I didn't have enough turns on the scope to get the impacts to hit dead center. So I just shot for groups until I can get some different adj sight rings. I shot 9 rounds ( a full clip) at each target. I had to take off the shroud to get the gun to fit into one of my bow cases .... : ) Yep the bow case was the only case I had that would fit the rifle and my scope. All I can say it worked fine. So since I had the shroud off I decided that I would first see how well it grouped with it off. I started out shooting Diabolo exact king heavy .25 cal.... 33.95 gr pellets. These were not sorted pellets they were right out of the tin as they came. Here is my best group of the day. I might as well start with the best and then go to the rest...These were all 9 shot groups.

I was happy with that 9 shot group.

The 3 grouping inside the box were with the shroud off and the 3 without the box were with the shroud back on. I beleave with the shroud on it moved my barrel a little and made the impacts change a lot.

Nixed I tried some Hatsan Vortex Supreme .25cal 19.91 gr....They did not shoot good. Here is what they did.

That's all I have for now until I get back to the range for some more testing.
If you have any info on how to make this hatsan more accurate I'm all ears.... : )
