First three rats of 2020

Went to the dairy for a few hours, the weather was very mild here today so I thought I might get lucky. I shot the first smaller rat at 40 yards, it was silhouetted, looking right. The second rat was at forty two yards shot it while it was facing me, it was 3/4s of the way in its hole. When I went to retrieve it only the head was visible at the very top of the hole. Thank goodness for my grabbers. The bird activity was light, while inside the barn I heard what sounded like rain on the roof. Took a look and there were at least 50 pigeons on the roof. Shot the one flying rat shown from 54 yards, it was DRT, the rest of the flock took off and did not return. At the end close to sunset the barn was getting darker, I missed another 40 yard shot on a rat, the pellet hit an angled piece of metal I did not see and deflected the shot, oh well, next time! Shooting was done with my Bantam Sniper with Athlon Helos atop, sending 18 gr. JSB Exacts.
