First SloMo Groups w/Casio Exilim 1100 & Wildcat .25 cal.

Shot my first groups with the Casio Exilim and the Orion Steady Pix camera mount with the Wildcat. It was mainly a learning experience of how to set-up the camera, mount and adjusting things. I could not move the camera mount far enough forward to shoulder mount the rifle as the camera mount hits the weaver rail. I did not want to invest in the more expensive Eagle scope cam adapter at this time either. Groups were very good but I could not see hunting with this set-up as the Steady Pix is so easy to knock out of alignment. One video shows the slo-mo in the mov. video format and the other commentary done with my phone in mp4. I will add I'm having to use this new Cyberlink video editor which I hardly know how to use and it was a chore to do the slo-mo project. Bill

"T3PRanch"3 suggestions: Zoom the camera a bit, Adjust your parallax for perfect target focus and PLEASE turn the phone sideways to video your commentary. Search YouTube for No more Vertical Videos. :)

Thanks for the suggestions Thurmond. I am one of the older crowd that just uses their phone for emergencies. I have just started to use it for some video too. Thanks Bill

Great shooting for a full mag at 44 yards! Looks like at the 2:22min mark on the first video you shot the wings off a fly! :)

Not bad as far as how it turned out. Certainly good to see that the pellets are not spiraling, I am just meddling with my setup, a Casio EX-ZR200, and was not able to get a clear reticle and target focus at the same time either. Did the same focus away into infinity or an out of focus background. Need more time to mess with it. Are you using the "30fps-240fps" feature of the camera?

Where did you get that viewer that snaps on the back of the camera? That seems to work really good.

Yes I am shooting with the 30/240 fps setting. And I got the LCD viewfinder off Amazon. This looks like the exact one I got at about half the price I paided for mine. Bill

I think your off to a good start Bill. Just some fine tuning is needed. I too use the Orion scope mount and Casio 1100 which I thinks works very well. Since not all airguns are built the same, mounting the Orion can take some finagling to get a good site picture especially on the Wildcat. As you experienced, the scope rail is in the way. I plan on doing a quick video on how I mount and setup the Orion on my airguns so hang in there guys. But keep your videos coming.
