Wow... Who would have known a promotion meant my company owns me... FUN.... I'm not entirely complaining, but can a guy get some trigger time once in awhile??
Well I was able to get an hour to myself before dinner and decided to shoot instead of changing the oil. Haha. I only managed about 40 rounds, but was glad to get the gun sighted in better and a bit more comfortable with a pup design.
Doc, I don't think Colette (yeah, her name is Colette ) likes the copper coated pellets. @35yds my groups open up to an additional three quarter inch. I only managed 10 rounds of them though, so there are A LOT of factors to account for with so few shots and I intend to further this assessment ideally sooner than later.
I managed to find a work mate for $30 at a yard sale and jumped on it and I'm glad I did. Now I just have to figure out how I am going to brace this thing. Right now I am just using bags, so I will need to get a bench for her when time permits. I am still not used to the design of a pup and I think that is also half of my problem. I found myself wanting to grab my break barrel to maximize my fun factor, but I didn't. I just need time with it.
We we have a pack of insanely brazen coyotes that have been hanging out because they are logging a mile up the road and a few of these little poops have come within 5 yards of us and just sniff (so far...) craziest thing I've ever seen. The coyotes around here are usually VERY skittish. I plan on starting with the puppies and working my way up the chain. I've seen them for a week straight now right before sunset every night. All within 20 yards walking up and down the street. Maybe they are sick? They sure aren't afraid of anything. They don't display any "rabies" type symptoms, but I'm not vet either. People's dogs have started coming up missing again, so we have to fix the problem. Only problem is I am in an HOA and regardless of how much damage these things do, the neighbors will have a HEART ATTACK if I shoot these things. My only option is if they are in the field next to our house. It's probably 100x100yds and I could shoot using the woods as a backstop and know only 1 house MAY see it, so I have to be on my toes. They are always in the field as of late, it's just getting the right shot.
Well ill that's been my life as of late. Too busy to play and a new problem we've only ever had once before maybe 8 years ago. I will start trying to get pictures and video. I am looking for a camera now and actually just got the scope mount in the mail last week, so baby steps, but they are steps. I am still HORRIFIED at the thought of having to learn how to break this thing down. True story... I lose sleep over it in fact. Lol. You all will be the first to know how it goes. I promise. Lol
