First New Gun of 2020

The auction ended on Jan 1, and it arrived yesterday; a vintage FWB 124 SN 80XX. Other than the trigger guard, the finish on all the metal is great. The wood has scratches and dings, but doesn't look too bad; used but not abused. And other than the missing sights, there's not a screw on the thing that appears to have ever been turned. It came with a Burris 3X-7X scope (MIJ) that has already charmed me. It's period correct with it's skinny tube (18mm objective lens), clear glass, and fine crosshair reticle. The original piston seal is toast. I'm currently working on getting all the old seal out, and have placed an order with ARH this morning for everything I'll need to get the rifle back in shape. Airgun fun!

PA....very nice find! Hard to beat a 124. Definitely a favorite of mine. I'm up to 6 of them and 3 127s nowadays. Best of luck with yours!!!!

I vowed not to buy in 2020 unless it was a very good deal or something special. It didn't take long to find one that was both. This TX200 made by Mike Abernathy came up the other day. I always wanted one by MA. Now I have one!!

When I called Mike to ask about the rifle, he said it was one of 5 in what he termed the "GB" series. Apparently the first one in the line was for George Bush!

I'm thrilled to have it. .177 with a complete tune. Sometimes you have to just bite the bullet and go for it!
