1. As you can see it all depends on min and max magnification. I would not buy ffp scope with very wide range of magnification like 2-30 as reticle would be usable from x10 or so.
2. Keep in mind what will you use the scope for. I use mine for fanged from 10 up to 50m and I click turrets a lot so vortex fulfills it’s purpose really good. For long range shooting On known distances I would choose SFP scope where thin but visible reticle is a must and turret adjustments are used once for setting poi only.
3. higher magnification means better glass —> more expensive

There are more variables, different for all of us but I would not reject FFP or SFP without rethinking what do I really need...

I prefer SFP scopes, but I mostly shoot targets at known distances, I don’t normally use holdovers unless it correlates to the specific target I’m shooting on at that time instead of clicking? But only two of my scopes have hash marks the other two are fine cross hair or Dot! I don’t own a FFP scope anymore sold last one👍

Yeah, FFP is better suited to dynamic circumstances and for shooters that use holds often. But the only time I've felt handicapped was higher magnification FFP scopes with fine reticles on lowest or low mag.

One exception, and expensive, but the Athlon Cronus 4.5-29x56 has daylight bright illumination so even on 4.5X the reticle stands out well.
