So for the past year I've been trying to get my Impact 2 to the point where I could quit testing and tuning and tuning and testing and just start having fun and doing what I bought thing for....... long distance shooting. It's been frustrating but I got a lot of help from several of you guys on the forum. Thanks! Now, my long distance is nothing compared to what guys are doing on YouTube. I'm late to the game but it's a first for me and a good start. Last night I put the final touches on my tune and with the dying light, ran a couple of Aquafina water bottles out to 133 yards. Two shots, two hits. Couldn't believe it, so after work today, I got home and set three Aquafina bottles and a small 4" plasticine chunk out at 145 yards. I thought I had walked off 150 but when I got back and lased it, it was only 145 but what the heck, with a slight 0.2 milrad adjustment to the left I smacked em.
Took the bottles out and hit the plasticine dead center. When I walked out to access the damage, I saw a slug in the bottle. The 38.5 gr NSA slug passed through the plasticine and into the bottle that had been hit prior and fell over behind him. It had mushroomed nicely.
The Ares Etr, 4.5-30x56 I'm using had a lot to do with the easy hits. Man that scope reaches way out and pulls the target right in. Sharp as a tack and separates the target from the background. Looking forward to some longer attempts soon
Wish I had video'd it but here's a couple of pictures anyway.
