Like many I’ve been looking to extend my effective hunting range. Needing a bit more accuracy and bullet performance at 100 yards. Seems the FX guns are the rage but require tuning additions subtractions and a rather lengthy wait . I’m 72 years old and time is what I am most short of. ( I have little doubt an FX gun of one verity or the other is in my future). I digress (old guys do that) anyways. I sent a gun to Ken Hicks to tune and I ran my goals up his flag pole. Ken mentioned that he had a RAW 30 1000x LRT for sale (used) mint. So I bought the gun came today. Zero’d the gun and shot ONE five shot group at 100 yards. And yes I know it’s not all that statistically or scientifically significant but it suits me. Perfect conditions and may have been luck and you know I don’t care. The gun is well made I does crack a little but not enough to be a problem in my rather big yard. So anyways for what it’s worth.

If that's your first try @ 100 yds, imagine what a little practice will do.you hit the jackpot with tuner, gun and caliber. Congrats to you sir. Very nicely done.

If there is one thing about my RAW, it is that it shoots the same way with every shot. If consistency is your game, you're in business with that rifle!

Nice shooting, and great looking rifle. I love these rifles. I got my .25 from Ken, and couldn't have ask for a better rifle and experience. I wish I had 100 yards. I would be out there every evening shooting.

You will seldom be disappointed with a RAW rifle. Martin Rutterford has been building airguns for Theoben and RAW from age 15 and knows what works.

Nice shooting, I sure hope you have many many more years to enjoy it you will only get better with it, I miss my HMx .30 but it was to nice for me to keep dragging out to the range, I’m more of a synthetic stock type of person being I tend to drop and bang stuff around.

Just got my hands on my first .30 cal, although it's an FX Boss......but I've been trying for years with various .25 cal and .22 cal for that holy grail sub moa 5 shot group at 100. I finally made it happen yesterday with the Boss. I'm a slow learner compared to you brother.

Not to worry about digressing …everybody does it. I'll be 69 next month and was planning on getting a RAW myself. What say ... after we have had both guns for 25 years … we get together and have an old fashioned boot scootin' boogie at your 100 yard range between your gun and mine. Winner takes all … if I win, I get your gun and if you win, you get mine. Methinks the only thing we will have to worry about in the future is having the fire insurance on the house paid up and all our fire extinguishers fully charged … cause that many candles on a cake is gonna make a huge bonfire. Don't think of aging as the glass being half empty or half full and certainly not "oh gosh, I'm running out of time" … try thinking in the sense that you are getting younger … only in reverse.
An old Native American Indian chief taught me what was really important. He said, " What matters in life is whether you are REAL or not. REAL isn't how you are made ... it's something that happens to you along the way … it takes a long time. When you are REAL, you don't mind being hurt, it's simply another part of life. There is a ying and a yang and a balance to life. Usually, becoming REAL doesn't happen to people who break easily … or have sharp edges … or who have been carefully kept. Generally, by the time you become REAL … most of your hair has been loved off … and your eyes drop out … and you get loose in the joints … and sometimes you get a little shabby lookin' … but these things don't matter none … because once you are REAL, you can't be ugly, except to people who just don't understand.
Just remember to enjoy life, always be around people that you like and can have a good conversation with. There are soooooo many positive things to think about so enjoy life, don't let anything get you down for long, lighten up, loosen up, smile more, laugh more and don't take yourself too seriously. As I always say

Fantastic first try! Even in wind that .30 blows my mind. My biggest mistake in air gunning so far was selling my RAW .25, the guy wouldn’t buy my Crown and I needed the money. I’ll have another one sometime. Can’t wait to see more of your groups, and the rifle is a beauty too!! And the pony ride is short like Lickitty says, that rifle and you are gonna be having fun on the ride!

I feel like any rifle Ken touches can achieve this accuracy when it comes to the big .30! I miss my old RAW, but I’m loving my MKII .30 from Ken. Great shooting and nice looking rifle.
