Initially when I got it, it was unregulated and could not go beyond 30 ftlb. Barrel got fouled in 50 shots and accuracy went South. The breach O ring blew time and again well under 100 shots every time.

I e mailed to Mr. Johan at fx and also talked to Mr. Fredrick on phone.

They are extremely helpful people. They sent me some replacement parts.

Initially the trigger was not good as well. They also sent trigger parts.

Fredrick advised me to polish the barrel.

Now I have regulated this 400 and it’s very accurate and consistent. Barrel doesn’t get fouled. Trigger is good though not as good as HW100 or some other match grade triggers but not bad at all.

Now I am very happy with my fx royale 400 .22.

I am shooting it with 18 grain jsb at 920 fps.

I’m glad you’ve got your issues resolved! Few things are more frustrating than a problem gun. While I am happy to hear that FX was helpful I am a bit surprised that a product that is priced at the higher end of the market should leave the factory with so many problems.

Glad you were able to correct the issues. A good shooting rifle is a pleasure. I lived in Ludhiana, India for several years. Do you use it for targets or do you hunt? If you hunt, what species?

    Mr. Pinker,

Its nice to know that you are from Ludhiana. My parents migrated from your city in 1947 when our two countries got separated.

Please share your e mail address for further communication regarding your city.

I hunt as well as do some pinking.

Just applied something like JB bore past on a patch of cloth and gave around 100 movements with brass rod in the area where the grooves are.

Seems to me its a bit of a crap shoot buying an airgun these days.  New anyway.  Safer to buy a used one that’s been tuned or proven to function properly.

If I get a new one from one of the big names and it has any real problems at all I am immediately going to my credit card company and canceling the payment.

Or have the option to buy at a reduced price with 1-3 months warranty and spend the savings to get a reputable tuner work on it.

Glad you got it working well. Did you add an aftermarket regulator or the FX one? Here in the US I’m told we cannot install the FX regulator ourselves and must send the gun to AoA.

I did it myself. It’s not a rocket science at all.
