Finally heard from Troy H.

This is why backups of important data is critical to running a business. Both Google and Apple have solutions for syncing and backing up your data. All things eventually fail, so be sure to back up your stuff! I can't tell you the number of people I heard that have lost their only copies of their baby photos, the book/thesis they were writing, etc because they didn't have backups. Further get an offsite backup (like Crashplan) rather than just local-- because if you are robbed or your house burns down you could lose the backup also.

Too late for me. Here is my story as of an hour ago. 



I have a rather long troublesome story to tell. It is difficult for me to know in which groups to reveal it. 

After much due diligence I decided to buy a new air gun. I talk to many people I know from the various groups including this one. I was going to buy a Brocock compatible target regulated but was dissuaded by the great results so many people were having with their Kral guns that were set up by Troy Hammer. And, after all the requests I had for my configuration, it was still $100 less than the Brocock. 

I sent him $799 via PayPal on September 12. I said take your time as I’ll rather have it right than fast. He assured me that a couple-few weeks at worst due to the request of putting a regulator into it. 

After a few weeks I asked what was happening. He said he was having a hell of a time getting a regulator to work in it. But give him some more time, which I did. 

Then came EBR and he went, but I still had no gun. I started chatting with him several times a week. He assured me it was ready to ship, multiple times. 

Then he broke his phone and lost his passwords. Then a 2nd relative died (“we” actually found that to be true on the internet). Still no gun and silence. 

Finally one of the other group members told me he managed to get Brie, Troy’s wife, to have Air Venturi to ship him his compressor. I started trying to get her. No answer. 

I immediately started a PayPal dispute.

Finally, Tuesday December 4, Troy got back to me in text. And said many things including all his testing. That was the last of his communications. I text him that I will remove the dispute when I get a tracking number. He never looked at text again. I tried phone calls and all manor of contacts. 

After his first disappearance, when he said he was running a business off his cell phone, I configured a used Dell computer and shipped it to him with a monitor, free, including shipping, just to help him out. He did get it. 

Yesterday was the end of the dispute, 2 stage process with PayPal. He lost by not responding even to them. 1 hour ago I got an email from PayPal that they fully refunded my money. 

Regardless, not knowing the Hammer outcome, Monday I had already ordered the Brocock from Donnie Reed at Baker Airguns. They shipped the next day.

From what you stated, you're good guy to send him a computer to help his business out. I have my own business and communication with customers is a must, they trust me to do what I do and pay me for it. All in all I see you got your money back and was able to get the gun you wanted, let us know how the brocock shoots.

He was running his whole business/world off his cell phone. When he broke it he was lost. Regardless, he had access to his wife's computer. There was no backup. He needs support as to how to go about the current state of technology to run most businesses. I was trying to do that. I told him #1 through #10 BACKUP or use automatic backups that come with many cloud services.

His last comments to me were on 12-4-2018 2137 and not another since. He had plenty of time to read my text which he could get. He obviously had email the day before PayPal's decision and did nothing to thwart it. I emailed, text, tried several methods of communications. September 12 to December 14 is long enough without anything other than constant past comments that he was ready to ship. 

He DID tell me how much trouble he had trying to get a regulator into it. I even offered him $100 more to help. 

I'm glad you got yours. I never heard from him again.

 Communication IS key in a "business". 

He did seemingly log in on this forum ( and others ) 8 days ago but does not seem to have felt any need for a public message. In the old days that would have been enough said , blah blah...

i kinda hear you, i ordered a taipan veteran long from talon tunes 2 months ago now and still have not received it sent a few messages and he always responds nice and says they will be in soon. did finally see he posted on his website that the .25 veteran long was in and what looked like a impressive shot string so maybe soon!! lol

My wife got me a kral pb for me for Christmas. She Also tried to get it from troy and like everyone at this time had the same experience. No contact, but took the money. Tried everyday for about 2 weeks to get ahold of him and nothing, finally did PayPal dispute and ended up getting a refund as he did not respond to them either. PA sent one out to asap and im looking forward to sending rounds down range soon.



As a business, especially an internet based one, it is unwise to only be on with a single device with no safeguards. Hopefully he gets it all figured out and back on top of things as i would still like to order a few things from him...
