Finally got the bullet Trap into place!

CK I saw your post on the yellow, I can't post on there as you know so I will respond here. From my automotive days there is a product that you can apply to the metal that will convert the rust and stabilize it. it kills the rust and can be painted over, it turns the rusty areas black and sets really hard. I have applied it to parts and left them in the rain for months with no further rust appearing on the metal. I can not remember what it is called but any good automotive paint shop should stock it. I believe even the Eastwood catalog has it in there, Neil.

Hey MIKE
thats why I had it built. Don't feel comfortable shooting 300 + ftlb guns in the backyard - without some fortified protection
the tree doesn't seem to give me the peace of mind as the Bullet trap
also when the .45 caliber Beaumont arrives shooting 733+ ftlbs I'll feel much better
lm hoping to do a video soon
want to pour a concrete slab at the 100 yard Mark and set a concrete shooting table on it.
i want more stability than the Caldwell shooting table offers but will keep it set at the 50 yard Mark

NO I am not POR 15 is a brand name, there are many names for the product, I used in the automotive trade, all I had to do was wire brush the rust to get rid of the loose stuff, then remove any dust from the surface and apply the chemical. It could be applied by brush or spray gun, it dried faster where there was rust and turned into a very hard black finish, you could hit it with a hammer without hurting it. POR15 may do the same thing, I know there are a few companies putting out the same product but POR15 is extremely expensive compared to the product I used and bought in gallon containers. Neil.
