Finally got the Bantam Hi Lite .22cal

I got the Discovery 6-24X50 FFP scope and DonnyFL Tatsu earlier last week. I got the gun Saturday. I took it to the range Sunday. The rifle is really nice. Very light and easy to shoulder. Will be a good squirrel and rabbit gun while walking the woods.

I filled the gun to 240 Bar even though I kinda new it would be too high for a good shot string. Shooting JSB 15.89gr pellets I got exactly 100 shots starting at 818 fps and back down to 817 fps. The Highest it went was 903 fps but I would say the average was about 860 fps. But it was big jumps in fps both high and low throughout the shot string especially shot to shot. I found out if I fill it up to 220 bar the gun has a better shot string and about 60-70 shots. Im hopeing that it will smooth out over time and become steady. On low power it was about 100 fps slower. Other than that the gun is very accurate. I didnt get to clean the barrel. I actually dont know how yet. Will investigate. The scope is very clear but the reticle can become thin and hard to read the mil dots. The tatsu did quiet the gun down a lot and you can tell it is quality.

The weird thing is I shot the 18 gr JSB pellets and they shot the same point of impact out to 50 yards and the FPS were almost the same as the lighter ones.

Oh yeah the cocking lever is super smooth.

Sorry the pics arent very well done. Been too busy with my mom in the hospital. Thanks for listening.

It's great to hear your enjoying your Bantam. I have the sniper version but it was a hard debate wether I wanted to spend the extra 500 bux on the regulator. It's also great to hear your enjoying the bolt too. That's probably one of the biggest complaints about the Bantam is the bolt. I really like the way this rifle shoulders and how the weight lands right on the pistol grip. Hope you will write a first blood hunting experience post in the future. Oh and brocock made lots of videos on YouTube on general maintenance for the Bantam.

Congrats! Brocock is making some nice PCPs! And the Donny Tatsu is a nice mod, too!

My Sniper .22 LOVES JSB 15.89 and 18.13 pellets - and I've learned to stick with those two if I want to keep a smile on my face.

But it absolutely hates H&N 17.9 and 21.13 pellets (they are balky to chamber and hit erratically). It's not so fond of Crosman 14.3 Premiers, either.

I'm keeping to JSB 15.89 and 18.13.

Out of curiosity, what is the diameter of your shroud?

Hey guys thanks for the intel. I will try those pellets.

DHART it is the Donnyfl 1.6 x 4.25 inches TATSU $130 I was gonna go for the Tanto due to it being thinner but a little longer but i wanted a short gun and everyone said good things about the Tatsu.

Thanks Grin Reaver she is *The Best* say a prayer.

I was nervous of the bolt after some posts I read but mine works great, smooth and easy to load. Im happy.

Cant wait to get upstate to get in the woods for red squirrels.

edit: The only real complaint is the thinness of the crosshairs on the scope and the blue caps scope covers. Ugly. I may have to find a way to cover it.

Yes, the Tatsu is a nice choice for keeping the rifle shorter. I've got one myself.

Sweet rifle and set up. Real close to what I have. Cocking is so easy on mine that its a non issue. One thing I did was add three thick orings into the grooves and that really helps with the cocking. These guns are very accurate with JSB's and Crosmans and your shot count is close to what I'm seeing too.

I have a Tanto ldc on mine and it works pretty good but I would go with the Sumo next time.

Its topped with the Discovery 4.5x18x44 FFP and I like it. The crosshairs aren't as bad as I thought they would be after reading reviews.

I bought mine on here from a member it was like new. It likes Crossman ultra mags at 911fps, JSB 18gr. @ 860fps, JSB 16gr. @ 900fps. 70 shots per fill of 250bar. Average deviation is 2.7 and is non regged. Pretty impressive. Shoulders great. Mine has the Trenton on the end and is quiet. Cocking is very smooth. Can't wait to use it this winter on pest birds. The 2 position adjustable power is nice for that.
