Finally got a bullpup

I finally got a bullpup a few weeks back. Funds made my choice pretty clear. It is a Taipan Mutant, and all I can say is this rifle has spoiled me. Everything from the magazines to the trigger has been more than I ever expected out of an air rifle. Not only that but I discovered just how much easier it was for me to handle a bullpup compared to a traditional rifle. Even the rear cocking lever isn't as much of a hassle as I thought it'd be, and the sound profile is absolutely backyard friendly out of the box. In fact I like it so much I haven't even looked at anything else on the market.

Also whatever doubts I had about this rifle being a tack driver have vanished. I'm hitting my 40yd spinners at night with maybe 2 misses out of 48 shots.

Congrats man!
After 3 years of airgunning the Bullpup fever has finally gotten to this old man as well. I've been eyeballing the Mutants but came across a deal on a lightly used Colibri that I couldn't pass up and couldn't be happier. Now I get it. I know why the pups are so addictive.
Now all I seem to study are the Mutants, Vulcans, Edgun, WARP, Wildcat, and really interested in the new Galahad by Air Arms. Oh, and The Priest....I'm watching that as well.

Sounds about right. The Mutant is an example of how it should be done (apart from the stock and the rear cocking lever).

It is because it is so much quieter than my other air guns that it gets the most use. It makes backyard shooting so much more relaxed. I am never worried about disturbing the neighbors. When I take one squirrel, it doesn't scare the others away etc.

I also love how adjustable it is and how the shroud and HST adjuster are locked down with additional screws so they don't move unless you want them to. It keeps everything so consistent. It works so well out of the box (as a $1,000+ air gun should).

it is saving me money too. Every time I think about buying a new air gun, all I can think is "will I really use this if my Mutant is there".

I am actually thinking about doing something I have never done before which is buy a 2nd one. I said I would never buy two guns that were too similar and definitely not two of the same gun. I want to buy a Mutant standard and get it converted to a 25 cal.

"Erik"Why not wait for the .25 to come out instead
Because I am not convinced it will come out anytime soon. The only info I have seen about it has been from other members speculating. I haven't seen a single pic or announcement from the manufacturer or any of the stores that sell Mutants.

I have however seen a pic of an awesome 30 cal Mutant Shorty that Ernest made. He could make a 25 Mutant tomorrow if I had the cash and another Mutant to donate to the cause.
