Finally found a bottle cover that fits that I like

I caught up with “Little” George Wells of www.texasbrushhogcamo.com a week ago at at FT match in Arlington Texas. With him he had some CF bottle covers. I picked up this black one and a Camo version for my RTI Prophet and I’m super happy with it.
I hate it when I scratch something up I cannot remove the blemishes from and this is the perfect solution.
Now I must warn you, if you’re bottle is larger than 60mm it probably won’t fit without some trimming of the neck elastic. This was a very tight fit and took some effort to install. The bottle is super slick as is the material so it may take more than two hands to get it to slide over the top of the bottle. He gave me one of his business cards so now you know how to contact him.

I looked on their site. No detailed info that I found.

What's it made of ? Does it actually protect the cylinder from light dings and scratches, or is it just pretty ?

Mike

where you can find his bottle covers

and this is where he gets his material.

As for protection, it protects from abrasion of handling, putting it on a rest, etc.

Dings?? It’s a cloth material so I don’t know how well it will protect from a whack.

Can I see the camo version on your Prophet.

Thanks.

Harry I would normally oblige you, but it was quite a challenge getting the black one on there. The collar is a very tight fit and both the bottle and the material are slick much like handling a greased pig.
To remove it, install the Camo then put the black one back one would be a bit of a challenge. I’m afraid I’m going to wait until next spring when we do our annual prairie dog hunt before I’ll be up to doing that.
but here is a pic of the Camo cover.

I ordered a set the other day, blackout camo for my Prophet. Got an email from George last night stating he was a day late in sending out the order so he included another bottle cover! I was not even concerned when it would ship but he was. . One day late and he’s proactive to make things right. Tells me right there hes a stand up guy.

Davecole, from that first picture it looks like you now have contact between the bottle cover and the shroud, I'm wondering did this affect your poi or groups because of changes to harmonics?

Ps. bottle cover looks great ;~)

something of an optical illusion created by the angle of the first pic. Here is pic taken 90 degrees from the muzzle.

I’ve had the pleasure to shoot a couple of FT matches with George. He even invited me over to his house to have dinner with his family afterwards. He’s a very humble down to earth guy with a passion for air guns trying to make an affordable product at a reasonable price.
All of his products he sews himself too. Know that a little bit of George goes into each article he makes and are made here in the USA.

They won't fit like a pair of Yoga pants on Kim Kardashian backside but you can move them on the bottle once installed and they do not move on their own easily.

The material is thin; thinner than a tee-shirt but not 2mm thick.

I might suggest reaching out to George. Easy guy to talk to and he can answer all your questions about material, grade, thickness, color, etc. HIs contact information is printed on his business card at the top of the page.

Hope this helps!
