It held up to near 6,000 rounds, but broke tonight shooting at my indoor 25 yard range (notice the bottom upright connection)
I know they'll cover it, but I've been considering upgrading to one with parallax. I shoot mostly under 40 yards, so probably don't need to overdo magnification. Have medium sized mounts and would like to still utilize them. Money is not much of a concern, sooooo suggestions?

I have heard Vortex has awesome customer service. I have a pair of their 8×40 HD binoculars and feel they are a fantastic value. Tell them your story and what you hope for. Who knows how they will respond. Never know until you ask.
Keep us posted about your experience.

But if you want to upgrade to a different manufacturer I understand that too.
BTW what scope was that ?
Edit : and what gun ?

That's my plan. I know they'll replace it, but I want parallax now. The scope is the diamondback mounted on my asp20. I was using the asp20 and Diana 48 to do the ten dimes challange indoors.
And I suppose it's a great way of looking at it. I was disappointed, and I was shooting so well with it..

Yah. I was bummed. Been shooting with that scope on that gun for over 6,000 rounds. I'm sure they are going to respond well, but im thinking of giving the whiskyasp a try since it was "made for this gun".

February 6, 2020 at 10:01 pm LinkIf they won't upgrade it to an A/O you may be able to set the parallax yourself. Before I had A/O scopes when shooting at 12 yards indoors in my basement during the winter I would set the parallax on my Leupolds and Redfields to 12 yards. That would allow me to adjust my magnification up to maximum. It is a very simply process and will not void the warranty on Loopy made products. Not all scopes have this ability though as some manufacturers lock the locking ring and lens carrier together. You remove the locking ring on the front lens and rotate the lens carrier counter clockwise for closer distance and clockwise for farther distance. The biggest issue is breaking the lock ring loose the first time. You have to be careful to make sure the lens doesn't rotate with the locking ring. I have a UTG scope on my Gamo with over 15000 shots and going strong so you may want to check them out however sooner or later it will need the fast focus eyepiece secured with an oring.

February 6, 2020 at 10:02 pm LinkHow did the crosshair break? I've been shooting guns with a scope over 15 years and the only time it happens is when I took the scope apart to expose the crosshair and I was curious how tough it is so I poke it up with my fingers and bent it then try to use a toothpick to bend it back and break it lol. Unless you poke it or drop it from 100 ft I dont see how just shooting it normally would damage the crosshair.

Never dropped, opened, or mistreated. Just sat atop that gun and just shot it normally over 6,000 times. It broke on the 5th shot at the target you see I'm aiming at. Just simply broke while shooting. The scope has NEVER been opened, or dropped. Just shot under. Never even taken off once mounted.
Literally broke just shooting it normally.

February 7, 2020 at 2:13 am LinkI had Hawke Airmax 4-12 40 ao and after about 1000 shoots stoped holding zero on hw 97 kt. It was replaced on warranty. I have several different Hawke scopes and I think they are good for the price but I would not mount one on the springer again.

Thank you for the advice. This scope was perfect for many shots, but ive been thinking about parallax anyway, so its my opportunity. Im thinking about the whiskeyasp since it was made by sig for this gun…

February 7, 2020 at 10:51 am LinkHawke Air Max 2-7×32 or 3-9×40 around $220 or so. The 2-7 weighs only 16oz. There is a guy on YouTube called Cyclops who reviews scopes. Look him up and watch some of what he does and how he checks scopes. He really liked the 2-7×32. I don’t have any experience with the Hawke Air Max but hear they are durable. My 4x Hawke Vantage is mounted on a Bulls Eye ZR recoil absorbing mount and should last forever so mounted.
I’m like you most of my shooting is under 40, actually I target shoot at 10 and 20 yds. In my yard 30yd shot is a long one on squirrel. Two of my scopes are 4x fixed, and an Athlon Talos 3-12×40. The Talos is set at 6x on my only PCP and it stays there. I’ve been through several variable power scopes but all are set at 6x and left there. So I went with fixed power on my my last 2 purchases. Fixed power scopes are lighter, have fewer parts to go wrong, less glass so brighter for equivalent price points.
The broken crosshairs can be a problem with any scope with wire crosshairs. There are many brands that have glass etched crosshairs which won’t break.
You have a 2-7x Vortex, what power do you shoot with mostly. I would look for a good fixed power scope in that power. Make sure they are springer rated, and have a good reputation for customer service repair or replace.
If you target shoot only look for a 10x, if you target shoot and pest control with it 4x or 6x will give a bigger field of view than the 10x.

This is the most prudent advise, switching to an etched reticle scope. And be sure to get one rated for the Springer's scope killing recoil.

I love cyclops reviews!
Most of my shots i take at either 6 or 7X, but I have always felt i could use "slightly " more power.

They make the same scope in 6x.

I've been eyeing one of those. Don't mind the idea of new rings if I have to. Thanks for the input. Guess I'm probably gonna sell the vortex when I get it back.
