Finally bought some JSB’s 8.44 grain

We got back home this morning after 3 weeks of boating, fishing and camping on Fraser Island ( google it). Lots of fush as my Kiwi brothers and sisters would say. We had a ball.

Called into the post office and checked our post office box. Yahoo, my replacement 4*12*40 Airmax and two tins of JSBs and a few bills as well. Can’t have it all my way. We just finished unpacking so tomorrow I’ll sight the Airmax in on my Walther and after that see what all the fuss is about with these pellets in my HW30.

Those 8.44 are So Last Month Gary. The pellets you Really want to get are the PbSupremes in 8.13gr .😜

Man, 3 whole weeks having fun out, sounds great! Really hope the JSBs work out in the HW30, I have actually been doing lots of shooting with mine lately. Had some issues that I had to work out, but nothing too serious. It's shooting spot on inside of 25 yards, which is all the distance I need out of her.

Thanks Antonio, I had a fair bit of cleaning up to do after camping on the beach. It took me three and a half hours to wash the sand off from underneath my Isuzu.

Christian your messing with my head, last months pellets what’s going on my friend.

Walter I’ve just finished shooting the Hw30 with the JSB’s. Not really impressed but the groups should get better as I haven’t shot my rifles for 3 weeks and with all that medicinal alcohol I was consuming on Fraser I’ll have to wait a while for it to wear off🙃🙃😗

The two groups above are both 10 shots each at 25 metres. The top left is from my 30 shooting the 8.44grain JSBs 177 cal. The middle group is from my Walther with the new Airmax 4*12*40 shooting 9.65 H&N Greens .22 cal. If you enlarge the photo you will see two distinct subgroups in each group. Must be from all the booze I drank over the last 3 weeks.

When I get the time I’ll do a comparison with the JSB’s and the Hunter Extremes. Also I think my Walther outshot my little 30.

Yeah, just messing with you. It's just an expression to say that X is out of fashion, old, and not IN anymore.

Every gun is different and will have their favorite pellets, but I have found my HW30 to shoot a few with good accuracy at the range I need it for. That is to say inside of 25 yards. The 8.44 JSBs give me excellent results. But I have been shooting the Polymags lately as I need to get rid of them pesky Chipmunks and they do the business just fine. Even squirrels are doomed inside of 20 yards.

The groups you shot at 27.34033246 yards look pretty good if you ask me though. 😝

Sorry, don't know what you are asking/referring to.

Very good I didn’t notice this until this morning😏

I was trying different scope settings on my 30 and upon putting it back to bed I noticed it’s big brother which hadn’t been shot in over 4 weeks. My HW77 in 22 cal shooting H&N 12.65 Greens.Ten shots no scope creep or adjustment, 25 metres bottom left. I think I have a winner. The first 4 or 5 shots were nearly one hole and then I stuffed it up some.

Hey, is that the HW30 shooting the 8.44s? Have you done any shooting with it at any closer ranges? I rarely shoot it past 20 yards myself. How is the new scope?

Man, that 77 is spot on! I have my .22 LGV on the docket for a tune up but have not had the time to do it. So it's been sitting there. I really should try and shoot it a bit, frankly the HW30 has been getting all my attention lately.

Christian the target is the one I shot yesterday with my 30 and LGV. The top left is the 30 shooting the 8.44s and the middle is the LGV.

The three groups top and bottom right are from the 30 shooting the JSBs. With these groups I was experimenting with scope settings. They are all about 15 shots or more.

I would agree with you about my 77 it is very accurate. But in saying that my LGV can match it on its day. It’s just me and the difference in triggers.

I will post some some pics at 20 yards (yep I’ll measure it) with the JSB’s in the next few days.

Looks like it will be raining over the next couple of days so I thought I’d do it now.

The bottom right is my 22 cal LGV, 10 shots @ 25 yards shooting the 9.65 Greens FTT. with the new 4*12*40 Airmax.

The top right is my 30 shooting the JSBS 8.44 10 shots @ 25 yards. I don’t know if people remember this but my 30 has poi issues at different intervals throughout the day. At 25 metres in the morning the group will be one milldot higher then poa. At lunch it will be dead on. In the afternoon it will be half a mildot under poa. This has changed a fair bit when I took the rifle apart and removed the factory grease and put it back together sparingly using molly. But the problem still exists. Hoping that a Vortek kit will fix this.

Top left is the 30 dispatching10 shots @ 20 yards useing the JSBs. It’s mid afternoon so the poi has dropped by quarter of a milldot.

Bottom left is the 30 useing a quarter of a mildot holdover.

So there you go the fun of owning springers........I think I’ll take out my Titan gas ram and have a plink, it must be feeling terribly lonely by now.
