Filling pcp with scuba tank

Hi just bought a 12 litre 300 bar faber scuba tank with a best fittings 300bar din adapter I have previously used a hills hand pump so I'm new to using a scuba tank. The best fittings adapter has a flow restricter so could someone tell me how fast the air will come out when I open the valve. My rifle fills to 250 bar and I'm worried it will release the air to fast and do some damage. Please go easy on me as this is my first time using a scuba tank.

I have always filled my rifles very slowly by opening the valve careful, but i an not actually sure it is something you must do. ( FX fill kit )

I have also just gotten a 300 bar 12 L tank to fill my incoming 250 bar gun, i also have a 12 L 200 bar tank which i assume i will use to fill the gun from 110 or what ever low i stop at to 200 bar, and then top up the last 50 bar with the 300 bar tank.

Needless to say when you fill from a bottle with more pressure than the gun are rated for, you need to keep a eye on your gauges when filling.

Nice and easy never hurt anyone, so that is what i do, and the 30 seconds or so it have taken to refill my trusty old cyclone have been no problem, but of course when i did that it was just with the 200 bar bottle filling a 200 bar gun, so no reason to sweat anything with that mix. I have also shot tethered to the bottle some times when the 12 L tank have been low.

I am also contemplating at some point getting a 300 bar bottle for the gun, i assume it can handle that with its 2 regulators ASO

I believe the spec is 500psi a minute for most cylinder/bottles. For the airgun I wouldn’t fill any faster than that either. Gas compress equals heat, gas expending equals cold. Both bad for the cyclinder/ bottles, seals and Regs. I usually try to just keep the bottle/cylinder at room temp as I fill. Gauge fill speed by that.

I think the hpa microbore hose is making that flow restriction which is good.

but, not to over fill the gun bottle you need to "be there".

A step further if you want to make it "idiotproof" or just decided going for tethering, I can recommend a regulated fill adapter from this and this brands.

I have the Huma connected to my 14 liter 300 bar CF tank, at my range I can comfortably shoot 5-600 shots without any checking, the adapter I set @ 185 bars and acting as a pre-regulator on my Impact MK2.

ALWAYS fill SLOWLY, bleed, QUICKLY. That's the basic rule (& safest). Do that & it won't damage your gun. Gradually open tank valve until pressure gauge on gun starts to rise.

That is correct.

Fill slowly in order that incoming pressure can be controlled, and bleed quickly in order that the valve get closed with the internal hit of pressure. Other way the valve may not close.

Another point not made yet is: just have the tank filled to the max. pressure your gun uses. Scuba tanks are rated for 2400psi (steel) and 3000psi (aluminum). I have two tanks one large 80ft^3 standard size scuba tank (steel) that I keep at 2400psi and a little 6ft^3 tank (aluminum) that goes in a backpack I keep at 3000psi. Any of my guns can take either of those pressures. And as always, slow fill is best.
