Field Verified POI. TX200. JSB Exact Match - Hand weight 8.40 to 8.50 gr

Many of you have assisted and weighed in with suggestions as I have worked to dial in my TX200 .177. I have very much appreciated your participation in this journey. Over the last couple of weeks, I have made tremendous strides towards achieving the accuracy I thought I should be able to obtain based upon the rifle's reputation.

At this point my rifle is equipped with a sub 12 ft lb Vortek spring kit and Hawke Airmax 30 SF 8-32x50 scope. Over the weekend, I meticulously worked through determining the POI by shooting 10 shot groups at 10, 15, 20, 25,30,35,40,45, and 50 yards. The groups varied in size from single hole at 10 yards (indoors) to +/- 1" at 50 yards while shooting in a +/- 10 mph breeze (outdoors). This rifle has probably had 1,500 pellets through it by now.

The POI reference points at 24X are as shown below. BTW - this varies considerably from what the ChairGun app indicates what the trajectory and POI intersections should be. My experience so far is that the Chairgun app is dead on with my pcp rifles at a higher velocity, but is off considerably and is totally unreliable for my spring rifle, and I have tried everything I know of to get them to compare.

Finally, to make my life simple and enjoy shooting a few other pellets, I have produced the same chart, using and maintaining the 18 yard JSB 8.44 sight-in POI, while shooting the Crosman Premier 7.96, the JSB 8.44 Premium, and the JSB Heavy 10.34 pellets at all of the same yardages. In this manner, I can pick-up my rifle with any of these pellets, and know exactly where it will shoot, without changing the zero for each pellet. This approach has proven to work out really well.

Out to 40 yards, all of these pellets shot really well. At 50, the Crosman groups really started to open up. All of the JSB's shot about the same size group. I did not ascertain much difference, even at 50 yards, between the JSB Exact Match 8.44 hand weighed to within +/- .005, and the JSB 8.44 Premiums. Even at the low energy level, the 10.34s shot well in terms of group size, and because of their weight, did not drift quite as much in the wind.

If anyone would like, I could post the POI reticle positions for the other three pellets as well, should you be shooting about the same velocity out of your rifle.
