Field review New Brocock XR .25

I was really hoping the new Brococks would come with the upgraded Magazine system though.

Dana, as always great in the field videos. The accuracy at 100 yards was outstanding to me.

@intenseaty22, Why? Weren’t Dana’s groups awesome enough? They were all shot with the magazine. So why the gripe? The magazine “thing” with the Brococks is just that, a “thing” some experience. Did you not see the video and the accuracy of the gun with said magazine in place? Some are intent are making the magazine a common accuracy issue. There is another video review of the XR Concept Lite where the reviewer is casually grouping at 50 yards and busting mints at 100 yards. All shots with the crappy magazine. Brococks are awesome and many many more shooters are finding that out.

I think you may have seriously misunderstood/mischaracterized my "Gripe" with not coming with the new magazine system. I have NO gripe with the magazine. Matter of fact, my Brocock Compatto that I used to have had Zero problems with the magazine. I have never had a "gripe" with the old mag system. You are reading WAY TOO MUCH into my comment. I have read other users have this problem with it. "Some are intent" I'm not one of the "some" I'm neither a Superfanboy nor a Hater of Brocock. Actually seriously looking into getting one of these in .177, with the newer mags of coarse.

I had the privilage of seeing & playing with the new Magazine system in person at EBR way before they were announced. Frankly I don't know if they are any good. But they looked great, pretty damn cool actually. Much nicer in it's design than the current model. So, as to what my comment actually meant: If there is a newer, better designed system, I would like to have it over the current, "Magazine Thing" or not.

There is no redesigned of the magazine mentioned in any of the XR literature. I did not mean to offend, but as an owner of two Brococks that shoot incredibly with three different magazines. I get tired of hearing how the magazines supposedly affect accuracy. I am a Brocock fanboy because they work and work and work right out the box. That said, I don’t try and push them on anyone. Everyone gets to do their own due diligence.

Fact is, you took my words out of context. No where I said that I want the new system because the old one was bad.

It’s great that the mag works flawlessly for you, as it did for me. However, obviously some folk have a problem with them, and seems to be a real “thing”.

That thing is called Quality Control, and the company ought to stand behind it, period.

The new mags exist. They were outed at Shot Show along with the Delta Wolf teaser. They have a flap/door that opens and gives access to the “wheel”

Dana I really enjoyed the video. Awesome shooting as well. After this vid my mind is made up, when I can I will get one of these. If you get a chance I'd like you to shoot some slugs at 150 and 200, so we can see what it has.

I'm a old highpower across the course shooter and am porting those skills to air as I love the quiet shooting. We will be adding a 200yd course here at the house and I just wonder if I'll get to use air or will I stay with my BSA Martini .

My friend I totally agree that would have been cool to have new mags with this model. Like I mentioned I normally single load but this magazine worked really well for me obviously. I did not have to adjust this one, sometimes they can get out of alignment. Too I think in some cases the paint might be just thick enough around the exit side of the magazine to cause issue.

Thanks for all the replies, It's a winner for sure!

This is about the best shooting Brocock I have used. This one's built very well and handled a month of me throwing it in and out of the Jeep before shooting those groups. Very durable and accurate guns and have never had a problem.
