Feinwerkbau 124D Factory Walnut stock find

I was on an auction site and found this beautiful 124D. Numbers were right for it to be a rare factory walnut stock. Managed to get it for a great price too. Here's a couple of pictures of it. Enjoy 😉!

Nice find ... Tho the finish does not appear original. Checkering is filled in and surface looks like a re-coat job was done.

Its 100% original. All of the later models have pressed checkering. All have that coating as well. I have several Walnuts and they all look like that.....unfortunately. I am tempted to get it refinished, but I don't want to ruin the originality.

Nice rifle. I like the peep sight set up.

I'm with you. My opinion is that the plastic rear site that the 124/127 rifles came with are junk. The quality of the rest of the rifle demands a metal site....especially a nice peep or diopter. Personally I think the peep set up with a nice rear site plate makes for excellent aesthetics on these rifles.

I agree, I got a rear sight plate for mine from Beemans about 40 years ago, Williams receiver sight.

Is there anyway to prevent the grub screw on that Williams FWB peep from leaving a witness mark on top center of the FWB dovetail? Maybe a shim can fit between the dovetail and undersurface of the peep? Since that's a hard to find peep sight, can a standard Williams FP AG be used with the FWB dovetail? I can't tell which of the Williams, the FWB version or the FP AG you have on your walnut 124, but I'd like a pic too!

All the peeps I have used on my FWB Sports did not have the grub screw. I actually need to add a scope stop to this particular one. All the others incorporate a scope stop as well.

I have seen the peep site you are using. I think that the grub screw can be screwed inward to avoid damaging the bluing. Perhaps a thick piece of electrical tape would do it as a shim. Just guessing here.
