Our next TEXtreme Bench-Rest Silhouette matches near Waco are Saturday, February 5 at Central Texas Rifle & Pistol Club in China Spring, Texas. No club membership is required to enter the matches, and the club gate will be open for our matches.
The BRS matches will start at 1 PM, and we have two classes; Eighty Foot-Pound (maximum) and Thirty-Five Foot-Pound (maximum). Shooters may enter either or both classes (if properly equipped).
In a new development, the Match Winners of (both) the Eighty Foot Pound class and the Thirty-Five Foot Pound class will each receive $100 cash, courtesy of Trailers Plus in Weatherford. There are also cool hat-pin awards in both classes for Match Winner and Ten-In-A-Row (hits on any of the four types of animal silhouette targets we shoot at). The silhouettes are 1/10 scale (traditional airgun sized) chickens, pigs, turkeys and rams. However, since we shoot them from solid concrete bench-rests off ONE sandbag under the fore-end, the distances we shoot those tiny critters are 60, 75, 90 and 100 yards (respectively). For perspective, the turkeys we shoot at 90 yards have a body about the size of a quarter-
