Favorite "Unbiased" Channels

semi-hijacking the thread 270windude started, with the intention to create a list of youtube channels that some of us trust to be unbiased and truthful.

i found a few in that thread (added to my list), but am hoping to start a thread free of complaints of other channels, and just a good list for newer folks like myself to get good info.

i would encourage people to check out the ones they are unfamiliar with.

i would agree AEAE is up front about sponsors, which means you can read between the lines.

on matt duber, seems like a genuinely nice guy (all the SA guys seem so), but i've personally written off most of the big SA channels as FX advertisements now. patriout-outdoors opening up has kind of solidified that for me

+1

Have not seen them all, but I also like to watch Aaron cantrell`s videos. He as an "average joe" look on things. He is not afraid to show the hunting videos where he misses his target, and for hunters he is seems to be one of the few among the US channels which use .177 calibers regulary, to hunt safely on farms. And he has some different and original view than others.

Matt Dubber I won’t see now publicly trashing an FX gun that makes it to market because now that he is financially tied to FX. However, we all know this, Matt Dubber’s ideas and work have had a big influence on FX guns and what we see today. And he has stated that he has told FX go back to the drawing board. Also, Matt D seems to be someone who actually cares about his reputation and not just the cash, so if something goes south, that could impact his “good” reputation, then he tells FX to fix it or I am out, but you never know until it happens.

Look at the channels that try to save the airgunners' money. Look the guys who say "stop, stop, wait, pocket your money you don't need this!" Or say "don't fall for that poop!"

Those are the guys who are throwing away all their chances for extra income/free stuff/taking loss on crap guns they bought/loosing any possibility of sponsorships- all to save other guys money. These are the guys who don't get the respect they deserve!

For me only two guys here saved me more money than I spent watching their channels,

Thanks, Aaron Cantrell and Southern Airgunner! Because of you guys I saved myself hundreds of dollars (but I only blew those hundreds of dollars on other products on other guys' channels said were awesome, but weren't. :(

68 Whiskey is cool, but I feel FX advertising there too...whether it is true or not idk. I feel like that everywhere now though. I never took the FX pill 💊 but rather just saw them as a product. They have a nice line, but some of their rifles seem overly complicated and prone to issues and are very sensitive. Having come from the powder burning world myself, I like my airguns to fire when I click the trigger. I don’t want the question of maybe to be in there anywhere. I think additionally the FX rifles are a bit much for what they are...the quality does not meet the price as it does with a lot of the Eastern guns. I respect that a lot of people say they love them and find them reliable, but from an outsiders perspective looking at them, looking at the forums, and seeing all the issues constantly that people have with them, I tend to give them a pass. Their online presence and specifically YouTube is absolutely astounding. Whoever is in their media department needs a serious raise.

I don’t consider 68 whiskey really reviewer’s but more entertainers and maybe they do behind the scenes are in the research and design support. And the call so it’s buyer beware. There’s lots of negative about the FX impact but a ton of good and I bought one a couple weeks ago and so I’ll have to see and learn myself. Next will be a cricket or taipan with a reputation of hard core reliability.
For example consumer reports love Subarus, but my sister at 11 years back and won’t even touch him anymore. And I know people who are the same way with other car brands. Then you have people though they get lemon after lemon play still buy them because their brand loyal

Unbiased 😂 I don't think there is such a thing. Yes, some are less biased than others that is true. Matt Dubber, 68 Whiskey, even Ted's Holdover are all a bit biased. But I don't see a problem with the bias of some so long as it is a fairly honest bias. I really don't feel that any of these guys would be so bold as to endorse an obviously inferior or defective product as it could ruin their reputations and in doing so probly much of their lives as well. FX guns are great there is no disputing that and the fact that they make so many of them in comparison to other manufacturers makes the complaints about them far less meaningful for sure. The Daystate, Air Arms and HW guns are great as well and the list goes on.

Where I do have a problem with bias is when an obviously inferior gun or other item is pushed as high quality or a good product is pushed as defective junk, just to tear it down, when it is not.

Me I just jump over the obvious adds as I hate them. That is not to say that the rest of the vid is not educational, entertaining or worth watching though.

Spot on.

My favorite no-frills, no marketing BS airgun hunting channel is courtesy of the Brits over at the Squirrel Hunter channel.

thanks for this, adding it to my list.

davidsng - great advice

on the fx guys - i will say that i think duber and co. all truly believe fx creates the best airguns for what they need, and that is why they got into business with them. but i still consider their channels advertisements (of a product they truly believe in)
